Middlesex Community College’s Flexible Studies Department now offers 15 world languages. Fall semester classes start Tuesday, Sept. 5, and it’s not too late to register. Languages offered include Arabic, Chinese, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Italian, Japanese, Khmer, Latin, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Hebrew and, new this semester, Hindi. “Many employers are looking to hire people who can communicate in a variety of languages in addition to English,” said Marilyn Glazer-Weisner, Coordinator of Flexible Studies. “In addition, many four-year institutions, including UMass Lowell, require students to take a minimum of four semesters of a world language to graduate.
