Harrington Healthcare Announces New Partnership With Commonwealth Care Alliance SOUTHBRIDGE, MA – Harrington Healthcare System and its network of primary care providers, Harrington Healthcare Provider Organization (HHPO), this week announced its new affiliation with Commonwealth Care Alliance (CCA) to contract with CCA’s One Care program. The partnership aims to treat eligible patient populations with the most complex healthcare needs. Through this new affiliation,

CCA provides a full spectrum of clinical, behavioral health and social services to individuals between the ages of 21 and 64 as part of its One Care Program, a Massachusetts demonstration Medicare-Medicaid Plan that has been shown to be effective in enhancing the patient experience,

improving population health, reducing costs and improving the quality of work life for providers. It is estimated that more than 1,000 individuals are eligible to be referred to CCA’s One Care program as part of the new affiliation with HHPO. Using a team-based, multidisciplinary approach to care, CCA care teams made up of nurses, nurse practitioners, behavioral health specialists, social workers, physical therapists and other key roles conduct assessments and implement individualized care plans in order to reduce long-term hospital inpatient admissions and emergency department utilization.

Harrington Opens New Lab Draw Station at Oxford Urgent Care Express OXFORD, MA – Harrington HealthCare System’s lab services department has opened a new blood draw station for routine lab work at their Harrington’s UrgentCare Express location at 78 Sutton Avenue, Oxford, MA, according to Director of Laboratory Services Hope Hartland, MS, CLS. The new draw station is receiving patients Monday through Saturday from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m. “The health care professionals in Harrington’s lab services department are committed to providing outstanding testing quality and customer service for all residents of south central Massachusetts and northern Connecticut,” says Hartland, “regardless of the patient’s insurance coverage and referring physician.” Harrington HealthCare accepts the following insurance carriers: BCBS-MA, BMC Healthnet, Celticare, Commonwealth Care Alliance One Care, ConnectiCare of Mass, Consolidated Health Plans PPO, Fallon Community Health Plan (FCHP) including Senior Plan and NaviCare, HPHC, Health New England, MassHealth, NHP, Tufts Associated Health Plans (Excluding Tufts Senior Plan), United Healthcare/Evercare, and Unicare–GIC Indemnity. According to Hartland, 98% of all physician orders can be processed at a Harrington lab with a routine 24-hour turnaround time. To have your blood drawn at a Harrington lab, you only need to meet a few basic requirements: two forms of

When you arrive at the blood draw station, you will spend a few minutes with a registrar who will enter your information into the medical records system before seeing a phlebotomist. Hi, I’m Ferguson. You can call me Fergie for short. No, not that Fergie but I am an original member of the Pussycat Dolls. (Well, I would be if I wasn’t a boy) I can sing (the song of my people) and dance and purr (a lot)! I’ve even been known to put on a little performance. I could be the mascot for the Black Eyed Peas….I am the purrrfect color after all! I met a young lady for the first time recently and boy, did We Feel Alive, she had on her Mary Jane Shoes and we chased each other like kittens! We did get Off Da Floor though when someone brought out the catnip, “Here I come!”, I thought. I must admit I indulged! I love that stuff. Well, please come and meet me and pet me and oohh and ahh over my tail (no spoilers), the staff here do put me on a pedestal though! The CCC is in need of supplies, especially litter (Scoop Away), bleach, laundry detergent, dry and wet cat and kitten food (Purina/Friskies), paper towels, trash bags, and treats!
