REOPENING
Anybody need a reindeer for their sleigh tonight? I'm pretty convincing aren't I? My name is Marjorie and people REALLY love me, and I REALLY love them! Other cats definitely don't tickle me and I wouldn't mind being your one and only, but I may be able to tolerate another relaxed purrsonality with a slow introduction. I'm between 7 and 9 and still have a whole lot of spring in my step, I love to explore and jump and follow you around. I overheard some of the other cats at the shelter saying that I look like I have resting Grinch face in my photos, but that's just my face! I think they're jealous because I was a model in my youth don't you like my lipstick? Anyhow, I'd really like it if you came to visit me so you can experience my adorable face-rubs and happy rattlesnake-tailshake. I hope it won't bother you that I have early stage kidney disease, because I can continue to live a long and healthy life if I stay on my diet. While you think about that, I'll be here waiting for your pets!

Warm hearts
keep kids from being cold. As beautiful as winter can be in New England, the bitter cold nights find many children going to sleep without the warmth that we often take for granted. Over the years, our annual pajama drive has helped provide many needy children with pajamas and slippers. Sadly, every winter a critical need remains. Our community support is so important. Through the warmth of our hearts, we can help stop children from going to sleep cold this winter.

Once trees are cut, sap begins to seal their base, making it hard for them to absorb water. By requesting that between one and two inches be removed from the bottom of the tree at the time of purchase, buyers are ensuring their trees will be able to absorb the water they’ll need to make it through the season when they get home. • Place the tree in water the moment you get home. Fee Waived Senior Cat Adoptions in December at Here Today Adopted Tomorrow Animal Sanctuary Brimfield, MA (December 1, 2018) ─ There is nothing like a home for the holidays. The cats at Here Today Adopted Tomorrow, HTAT, in Brimfield have been really good this year and a loving home is their only wish. So all December long, HTAT is waiving adoption fees for cats 8 years and over to make their wish come true.

Think of a calmer, wiser, less willfully destructive cat — a friend who will love you unconditionally. That’s what you get when you adopt a senior cat.”

About Here Today Adopted Tomorrow Animal Sanctuary Here Today Adopted Tomorrow Animal Sanctuary, HTAT was founded by mother-daughter team Barbara Horn and Rachael Max. HTAT is a volunteer driven group focused on reducing the number of homeless animals in our community through prevention and adoption services. In 2012, we opened our no kill, cageless cat adoption center for adult cats and kittens in Brimfield, MA. It is deeply important to us that every resident's stay at Here Today Adopted Tomorrow is comfortable and healthy, making for well-adjusted, happy animals.
Many shy and fearful cats that do not do well in a traditional shelter flourish in our setting. Shortly after opening, we realized there were more homeless cats than we could handle by adoption alone, so we started programs to spay and neuter the community cats. 180 Sturbridge Rd, Brimfield, MA, 413 324 8224, www. heretodaysanctuary.org To become a fan of Here Today Adopted Tomorrow Animal Sanctuary on Facebook go to: h t t p : / / w w w. f a c e b o o k . c o m / heretodaysanctuary

help wanted High-paying professions Much of the talk centered on women in the workforce concerns the disparity between earnings when compared against men in the same positions. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics indicates that the earnings difference between women and men varies with age, with younger women in the country more closely approaching pay equity than older women. Still, Pew Research Center says the female median annual earnings is around 83 percent of what men earn in the United States.
• Obstetrician/Gynecologist: Many women feel more comfortable being examined or discussing female issues with female doctors. This may account for the higher percentage of female OB/GYNs in practice. The job can be very rewarding because it enables one to care for women at various stages in life. The median annual salary for OB/GYNs is $207,000. • Chief executive: It’s a large responsibility overseeing an entire company or division, but that’s what chief executives do on a daily basis. Approximate median annual earnings are $97,552.
The gender pay gap exists to some extent in every country in the world. Statistics Canada points out that women between the ages of 25 and 54 earned 87 cents an hour for every dollar made by men in 2015. Business Insider UK says Iceland, Finland and Norway boast relatively small pay gaps between the genders.
• Pharmacist: Pharmacists manage the distribution of medications, but they also consult patients on medication use and administer some immunizations. Some pharmacists work in drug or grocery stores, while others are employed in clinical settings. The median annual salary for pharmacists is $95,628.
Even though a gender wage gap may exist, women can still pursue careers that are known to be wellpaying. The following are some of the top-earning positions women (and men) can consider, courtesy of Forbes, Monster.com and the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
• Optometrist: Responsible for the examination and care of their patients’ eyes, optometrists also determine prescriptions for glasses and contacts. Optometrists earn a median annual salary of $102,000. • Attorney: Lawyers are consumers’ advocate and help explain the often confusing nuances of the

law. Attorneys may specialize in different areas, such as corporate law or family law. Attorney salaries vary depending on the specialty lawyers choose, but law can be a very lucrative field.
(IT) Managers. They coordinate and implement company-wide IT efforts, including networking, database development and troubleshooting. IT managers earn median annual salaries of $87,400.
• Computer and Information System Manager: These workers are also known as Information Technology
While gender pay gaps may still exist, women can earn high salaries in an array of professions.
