My name is Molly and I'm kind of a miracle. I'm only six years old, but if you'd seen me when I first came to the shelter, you'd never believe I'd make it this far! But here I am, healthier than ever and twice as plump! Between you and me though, I'll gladly do some more plumping if you're willing to supply the treats. As much I don't like this part, I need someone who'll make sure I get my thyroid medicine too. I feel so much better than I did in my old life and I never want to look back. There is ONE thing I love more than treats, and that's attention. I love to be loved and I have so much to give back to you that I'd prefer not to share my people with any other cats. If your calm home needs a Molly to liven it up, I'm your girl. I'm available to foster or adopt, but let's face it, there's no way you'll give me back! The CCC is in need of supplies, especially litter (Scoop Away), bleach, laundry detergent, dry and wet cat and kitten food (Purina/Friskies), paper towels, trash bags, and treats! Any help is very much appreciated! We are located at 289 Thompson Road in Webster and are open Thursday through Sunday 12pm-3:30pm. You can see more of our adoptable cats on Petfinder and Adopt-a-pet and we would love it if you would follow us and share our kitties on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com /pages/Community-Cat Connection/18375625177438. Please email us at info@ccatconnect.org for any questions!

Safely avoid potential winter hazards

Winter can be a beautiful time of year, particularly when freshly fallen snow blankets the landscape. However, winter is also a time fraught with potential peril. The same winter weather that makes landscapes so pristine can make roads and walkways — and even being outside — dangerous. The U.S. Department of Transportation says weather-related vehicle crashes killed 6,253 people last year and injure more than 480,000 per year. These accidents most often occur when roadways are wet, snowy or icy. Yet, winter

related injuries account for many of the incidents sustained while removing snow. There’s also the risk of injury from collisions with pedestrians and snow plows. Plows and bobcat-type devices can cause serious injury. Exercise caution when operating such machines. Roof snow removal Removing snow from a roof can be a dangerous prospect. Always use the appropriate equipment, which includes telescoping poles, rather than climbing on slippery roofs. This may be a job best left for a professional, who will have fallarrest systems and nonslip safety boots. Dressing for conditions Venturing outdoors for winter fun may be enticing, but never put your health at risk for the sake of fun. The Mayo Clinic says hypothermia is a medical emergency that occurs when the body loses heat faster than it can produce heat, causing a dangerously low body temperature. Wear appropriate clothing to prevent hypothermia, which may not produce any initial symptoms. If shivering stops or confusion and slurred speech set in, severe hypothermia is in effect and a person should be moved indoors and gently warmed. Mild hypothermia is also possible indoors, typically when the elderly spend several hours in poorly heated homes. Winter may be beautiful, but it also can be hazardous. Taking precautions and using common sense help avoid dangerous situations.

Harrington HealthCare System joins Boston Accountable Care Organization

SOUTHBRIDGE, MA; January 10, 2019 – Harrington HealthCare System is the latest organization to partner with Boston Medical Center (BMC) Health System and participate in the MassHealth Accountable Care Organization (ACO) program through the Boston Accountable Care Organization (BACO). “This partnership is an important step forward in our commitment to the MassHealth patients in our community. We will place strong emphasis on gaining access to primary care and on making sure our patients have a seamless connection to a range of community-based support and wraparound resources,” said Ed Moore, Harrington HealthCare System President and CEO. BMC Health System and its BMC HealthNet plan formed accountable care partnership plans with BACO and three other ACOs in other parts of the state in order to provide enhanced services to MassHealth members.

January 16, 2019

The ACO program supports MassHealth's commitment to: Improve quality and member experience and integrate the full spectrum of care, including medical care, behavioral health and longterm services and supports; Provide clinical and communitybased support for populations with behavioral health and long-term health care needs; Shift incentives to hold providers accountable for quality and total cost of care for a population of patients; Invest in primary care and community workforce development; Allow for innovative ways of addressing social determinants of health; Expand access to substance misuse disorder treatment, including treatment for co-occurring disorders. BMC Health System President Kate Walsh said that the organization’s longstanding patient and community-centered approach, understanding of MassHealth cost drivers, and its commitment to innovative, new approaches to improve care put BMC Health System and BACO in a strong position for success. “We’re pleased to be a part of this important restructuring of the MassHealth program to improve care for
