I am extremely friendly so long as there isn't another purrson creeping into our space. I even like to be held when I'm calm, and it will feel like your arms are draped around pure luxury and LOVE! What I'm trying to say is that I'm SO SOFT! Nobody is softer than me so I prefer to be the only cat, in a calm home where I'm allowed to slink around your legs while you walk, sleep on you at night and decorate your windowsills during the day as I gaze at the great outdoors. All perfect moments to brush my curly bib because I do need grooming, but can you blame me?! Come on, let's go on a spa day together!... before you take me home furrever. The CCC is in need of supplies, especially litter (Scoop Away), bleach, laundry detergent, dry and wet cat and kitten food (Purina/Friskies), paper towels, trash bags, and treats! She offered insight into her family’s adventures in the entertainment world as she, her parents and her nine siblings – an assortment of altos, sopranos, tenors and basses – sang their way out of their humble Rhode Island home to several prestigious national venues. During the Burke Family’s musical journey, they appeared on local television, as well as on the Ed Sullivan, Mike Douglas and Jack Parr shows. The group crisscrossed the United States and Canada in a pair of monogrammed Chevrolets, meeting television hosts, show business personalities, comedians, cardinals and a host of

women whose mission is to support and enhance the excellent services provided by the Harrington Healthcare System. Throughout the year, the Auxiliary organizes and sponsors a variety of fundraising events, including Lucky Duck and Family Day, Irish Night, the Car and Motorcycle Show and bake sales. The proceeds from these events are used to purchase equipment and provide programs that benefit the health and wellbeing of those who live in the communities served by the Harrington Healthcare System. New members are always welcome. Gingerbread goodness Gingerbread is a broad term that can describe anything from a firm and crispy cookie to a moist, soft cake. Traditionally, gingerbread is seasoned with ginger, cloves, nutmeg, and other aromatic spices. Molasses and brown sugar counteract the spice with sweetness. North Americans have been baking gingerbread in various shapes or forms for more than 200 years, and the recipes even pre-date the American revolution. However, gingerbread dates back even further to the Shakespearean era, with The Bard having mentioned it in one of his plays. Gingerbread’s name can be trace to medieval England

and once referred to any kind of preserved ginger. The term went on to reference ginger-ﬂavored cakes in the 15th century, and gingerbread eventually became popular throughout the world. Even though gingerbread cakes and cookies have been made for centuries, Germans are often credited with creating gingerbread houses, according to Smithsonian. They were probably modeled after the witch’s candy cottage in the German fairy tale, “Hansel and Gretel.” Even though gingerbread can be made any time of year, it is particularly associated with the Christmas season, with gingerbread men and other fanciful shapes turning up on cookie platters.
