Transforming Lives Through Education Since 1852
“For this very reason, you must make every effort to support your faith with goodness, and goodness with knowledge, and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with endurance, and endurance with godliness, and godliness with mutual affection, and mutual affection with love.” - 2 Peter 1:5-7
Greetings! The 2020-21 academic year was a unique and challenging one for all of us. The COVID-19 pandemic pushed St. Michael’s College School (SMCS) to find new ways to educate, connect, and develop our students in mind, body, and soul. The wholeness of our educational mission to teach goodness, discipline, and knowledge was tested in new and unpredictable ways. Despite the obvious challenges, the core to our success continues to be an unwavering focus on student development and well-being – young men prepared to change the world through lives of faith, character, and service. Last year, our community came together for the common good. We seamlessly shifted between in-person and virtual learning bolstered by a historic investment in safety infrastructure to take care of what matters most – our people. From students and staff, to parents, alumni, and friends, many rose to the challenge,
in a variety of different ways, to double-down with heartfelt investments of time, talents, and resources. In a year of change and unpredictability, you were there when we needed you the most, even when some of the changes impacted your social interaction with the school. Your understanding and co-operation were key to ensuring our success. Our donors also recognized the needs of the school and for this, we are extremely grateful. Thank you for helping us provide more financial assistance to students than ever before. Remaining financially accessible continues to be core to the mission of a Basilian education. Thank you for your prayers, generosity, and support. Yours in Christ,
Fr. Andrew Leung, CSB President
