Sales Manager Sales and Marketing General Manager Full-Time, Salaried Exempt
Summary Perform sales related functions in support of the established sales plan, by performing the following duties: Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Proactively seeks out new business in assigned market segments: initiates contact with prospects; prepares proposals for prospects that reflect a win-win arrangement; follows up constantly and most importantly closes business. Represents the convention complex to all potential clients; conducts facility tours; answers questions and provides information regarding facility services; assists clients in finalizing booking arrangements Qualifies client inquiries and follows up on all leads To achieve individual and team goals for Sales requirements & associated revenues. Ability to handle prospective clients over the telephone and in person and maintain a relationship throughout sales process and for repeat sales. Knowledgeable in all administrative and operational procedures of the Center
Supervisory Responsibilities This position has limited supervisory responsibilities for employees or interns in the Sales and Marketing Department. You will be carrying out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with SMG's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding; disciplining employees in conjunction with Human Resources; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience Associate's degree from a four-year College or university in Sales, Marketing, Journalism, Public Relations or related field preferred Minimum 2 years sales related experience required Facility/industry experience preferred
