At long last, the new Smith Vogue delivers an attainable women’s goggle with all the necessities in a modern classic design. These frames are designed to fit a woman’s smaller face, with compression-molded foam creating a draft-free seal to keep out wind and moisture. A built-in Fog-X treatment absorbs and disperse any moisture that does find its way in to prevent fogging. The cylindrical dual lenses also feature Airflow ventilation to further prevent fogging and ensure a clear field of view from the top of the run all the way to the bottom. The Vogue is helmet compatible with a no-slip silicone backed strap, and available in an array of colors to coordinate with your look.

DUAL LOCKING MECHANISMS Once in position, the lens carrier provides a patent-pending dual locking mechanical engagement to secure the lens. With the Smith MAG’s two locking mechanisms, the lens stays locked tight for whatever the hill throws at you. A simple push of one lever at either side of the lens releases the lens for easy swapping as the light and conditions change.

MAGNETIC CONTACT POINTS Strong and weatherproof N52 magnets automatically guide the lens into the anchored position. The magnetic function speeds up lens changes to get you back out riding faster.

Smith innovation featuring Koroyd

FINALLY, PROTECTION AS PROGRESSIVE AS YOU ARE. Koroyd® provides superior impact absorption, design flexibility, and ventilation when compared to materials traditionally used in helmet construction. By utilizing crumple-zone cylinders that crush uniformly on impact, Koroyd® manages energy more efficiently with less volume than any other protection material on the market. Unlike traditional protection materials, Koroyd® cylinders absorb and convert more kinetic energy, while increasing airflow and reducing overall weight. Not all helmets are created equal.

Developed as an energy absorber in the aerospace industry, cylindrical structures were found to be one of nature’s strongest forms; a form that could offer the greatest impact absorbtion for a given length. Koroyd® utilizes cylinders to create a structure that behaves differently than traditional protection materials. Traditional materials act like a spring which stores energy and then releases it, Koroyd® is a true energy absorber which converts the kinetic energy by crumpling. This translates into better absorption of impact energy. ENGINEERED ABSORPTION The combination of Koroyd’s® precise and unique thermal welding process leads to a structure with both extremely efficient and consistent energy absorption properties. Upon impact, the cores crush in a completely controlled manner, decelerating the energy from the impact and reducing the final trauma levels. ENGINEERED PROTECTION Thousands of co-polymer extruded tubes, thermally welded to create an unparalleled consistent and fully engineered core. MIPS® technology MULTI-DIRECTIONAL IMPACT PROTECTION SYSTEM In a helmet with MIPS® Brain Protection System (BPS) the shell and the liner are separated by a Low Friction Layer. When a helmet with MIPS® Brain Protection System is subjected to an angled impact, the low friction layer allows the helmet to slide relative to the head. The MIPS® BPS is designed to add protection in helmets against the rotational motion. The rotational motion is a combination of rotational energy (angular velocity) and rotational forces (from angular acceleration) that both affects the brain and increases the risk for minor and severe brain injuries. MIPS® BPS has been scientifically proven to reduce rotational motion when implemented in a helmet by absorbing and redirecting rotational energies and forces transferred to the brain.

THE GREAT MISCONCEPTION Accident statistics show that many injuries occur due to angled impact to the head. However, in standard helmet tests the helmet is dropped vertically onto a flat surface. The results are helpful for measuring precise vertical impacts, but inferior for measuring the more realistic scenario of an angled impact. MIPS® has been developed for reality and increases protection against angled impacts.

MIPS® IN ACTION When you fall to the ground at an angle rotational forces are generated. A helmet integrating MIPS® technology creates a sliding layer between the outer shell and the head. This allows the helmet's outer shell to slide relative to the head when hitting the ground, so the rotational force is decreased, reducing the potential to damage your brain.

At Smith, we design helmets and goggles to work together as a fully integrated system. For the helmet line, the most important factor in integration is the AirEvac™ ventilation system. This is the bridge that allows goggles and helmets to function as one system, venting warm, moist air away from the goggles, through the helmet climate control system and ultimately away from the head.

Ultimate integration starts with the precise fit of the Smith goggle and helmet. Our helmets are designed to match the curvature of the goggle frame, eliminating “gaper gap” and allowing precise alignment between the helmet AirEvac™ and the goggle venting systems.

Goggles fog when standard helmets trap warm, moist air in the goggle chamber. Smith’s AirEvac™ ventilation systems generate maximum airflow that pulls warm, fog-causing air out of the goggle. The warm air is allowed to exhaust out of the top of the goggle and begin its path through the helmet’s AirEvac™ system.

The warm air that originally built up in the goggle has been forced out via the AirEvac™ ventilation system, has traveled through the AirEvac™ EPS vent channels, and is now being exhausted at the furthest distance possible from the goggle. Temperature control is the most important feature when considering how to enjoy the entire day on the hill. Our Dual Regulator ventilation system independently controls the front and rear sections of the helmet’s venting, allowing you to moderate your body temperature even in extremely cold conditions.
