GOGGLES

Anon // M2

Anon // M3

Julbo // Airflux

Anon // WM1

It ain’t cheap, but the M2 is worth it — it’s still our favorite goggle. Rare-earth magnets secure the goggles’ lens to their frame, making the M2’s interchangeable lens system the quickest and easiest to use of any goggle on the market. Anon’s optics are also top-notch (we’re big fans of their low-light Blue Lagoon lens), and you’ll get a nice molded storage case with your pair. But if you’re not into the M2’s larger fit and full-frame styling, you’ll find a lot to like about the Smith I/O7.

For those who like the magnetic swap system of our perennial favorite (the M2) but who are looking for a cylindrical goggle, the M3 is the go-to. It also features an integrated magnetic facemask, and the same incredibly easy lens swaps as the M2.

The Airflux is Julbo’s cheaper alternative to their Airspace google. It features a unique lens retention system that allows you to pop the lens out and away from the frame to allow increased airflow. This helps with fogging when bootpacking or sidestepping, and this increased ventilation should also help those who wear glasses under their goggles. The Airflux fits a little smaller than the Anon M2 or SPY Doom.

The WM1 is, effectively, the women’s version of the M2, and just like the M2, we think the WM1 is absolutely dialed. It has a larger fit than the Smith I/OS, and in terms of ease of use, the WM1 is as good as it gets among womenspecific goggles. And any guy looking for a smaller frame than the M2 should get this — don’t be scared off by the “W”.

SPY // Doom

Smith // I/O7

Smith // I/OS

While SPY’s lens swap system isn’t as easy to use as Anon’s, we’ve found that SPY’s Happy Lenses are some of the most versatile lenses we’ve used. So if you’d rather have a couple very versatile lenses instead of swapping out your lenses to adjust to conditions, SPY’s Doom is a great option.

The Smith I/O was the first goggle to feature an interchangeable lens system, and the I/O7 is the most recent, updated version of the original. The I/O7’s lens change system isn’t as idiot-proof as the Anon M2’s, but it’s a bit more user-friendly than the I/O’s — you’ll be swapping lenses in less than a minute. Furthermore, Smith’s lens selection is outstanding. So if you’re not a fan of the look or the higher price tag of the Anon M2, then the Smith I/O7 is an excellent alternative.

The Anon MW1 is an outstanding women’s goggle, but its fit is definitely on the larger side. So if you have a smaller face or just prefer the look of the I/OS, we highly recommend it.
