fun in the sun cruise on board the Costa Fascinosa

Costa Fascinosa

This is definitely the most glamorous ship in the fleet. The 113,216-ton, 3,780-passenger cruise ship Costa Fascinosa was designed by the wellknown cruising designer and interior architect Joe Farcus. The theme onboard is “things that fascinate”, meaning celebrities, exotic spaces and movie stars, synonymous with enticement and charm. Fascinosa features increased whirlpool tubs and waterfalls, her “Millionaire Casino” is called after the Italian Oscarwinning “Slumdog Millionaire” movie. Fascinosa ship provides five dining rooms, casino, theatre, two show lounges, library, steam room, modern fitness center, four pools & five jacuzzis plus SPA. most important, and its swag of vainglorious palaces, castles and churches make Rome look positively provincial. Then there’s the food. Blessed with rich volcanic soils, a bountiful sea, and centuries of culinary know-how, the Naples region is one of Italy’s epicurean heavyweights, serving up the country’s best pizza, pasta and coffee, and many of its most celebrated seafood dishes, street snacks and sweet treats. citadel and fortifications rising steeply from the harbour and the Gothic Catalan cathedral. There are more stylish designs on display in the chic fashion boutiques in the lower town where you will also find numerous restaurants, cafes and bars.

SAVONA Behind Savona’s sprawling port facilities, the city’s unexpectedly graceful medieval centre is well worth a stop. Among the old-town treasures to survive destruction by Genoese forces in the 16th century are the baroque Cattedrale di Nostra Signora Assunta and the lumbering Fortezza del Priamàr. There’s also a nice urban buzz, with lots of new shops, bars and restaurants regenerating the old centre. PALERMO For millennia at the crossroads of civilisations, Palermo delivers a heady, heavily spiced mix of Byzantine mosaics, Arabesque domes and frescoed cupolas. This is a city at the edge of Europe and at the centre of the ancient world, a place where souklike markets rub against baroque churches, where date palms frame Gothic palaces and where the blue-eyed and fair have bronze-skinned cousins. NAPLES Italy’s third-largest city is one of its oldest, most artistic and most appetising. Naples’ centro storico (historic centre) is a Unesco World Heritage Site, its archaeological treasures are among the world’s

Symphony of the Seas®

YOUR CRUISE HOLIDAY DAY BY DAY Palma de Mallorca

A rugged island with fine beaches, Mallorca welcomes travellers seeking sun, sea and sand. Its capital city of Palma is home to a lively cafés and arts scene, historic sights and an Old Town of twisting lanes and hidden courtyards. On the one hand, this city, founded by the Romans some 2,100 years ago, is replete with (literally) wall-to-wall history and architectural splendour. You can journey back in time and wander the mazes of alleyways and cobblestone paths that surround the Gothic cathedral. On the other hand, Palma is bustling with life, showcasing the island’s best restaurants, shops, nightlife and a vibrant art scene.

Provence (Marseilles)

France’s oldest city is one of its most dynamic, with a melting pot culture and vibrant arts scene. The soul of the city is its Vieux Port, the working waterfront. Amongst the many terracotta-roofed buildings, lies many intriguing sights including the Cathedral of Notre-Dame-de-laGarde. Founded in 600 BC., Marseille is also a gateway port to the scenic villages and coastal areas of Provence., such as the city of Avignon and the quaint villages of Le Baux & Aix en Provence.

La Spezia (Cinque Terre/Florence/Pisa)

A former fishing village at the border of two enchanting regions, La Spezia offers easy access to Tuscany and its great cities like Florence and Pisa and the Liguria’s rugged coast and terraced villages known as Cinque Terre. Enjoy the magnificent city of Florence, pause in the Piazza del Duomo to admire the exterior of the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore or view the statues in Piazza della Signoria on your way to Ponte Vecchio. You may continue to the historic town of Pisa for a look at the famous leaning tower built in the 12th century. Malta to Trieste

Fascinating Cavtat & Konavle Valley

In the morning we have a scenic drive though the most southern part of Croatia flanked on one side by the sea and on the other side by the border to Bosnia-Hercegovina. We have a short photo-stop high above Dubrovnik where we have a birds-eye view of this wonderful city. We continue inland to the fertile Konavle Valley and have a look at the Old Mill next to the cascading waters of the Ljuta River. From there we proceed to the enchanting seaside resort of Cavtat, once a prosperous Greek and Roman colony. It is now more relaxed and quite charming making it a preferred destination for the area’s many yachtsmen. You can almost feel time slow down as you wander the seaside promenade and quiet streets on your own. Enjoy a coffee in one of the splendid seaside bars, take a photo of the pretty bay or do some souvenir shopping. A picturesque drive along the coastal road takes us back to the port of Dubrovnik in time for lunch on the ship.

The walled city of Dubrovnik & the Island of Lokrum

After lunch we have a short 15-minute drive from the port of Dubrovnik to the Old Town where we have a 1-hour guided tour of the city, a city of unique beauty and harmony, spread out on the stone rocks and cliffs descending into the embrace of the sea and the waves. The main street is known as the Stradun and many of the city’s attractions are right here, including several monasteries, and the elegant 16th century Venetian Gothic Sponza Palace, once the city’s Custom House and notable for its fine courtyard columns and elaborate stone carvings. Dubrovnik’s famed symbol of freedom, a carved figure of an armoured knight, adorns the Orlando Column in a nearby square. After the walking tour you can either have free time for souvenir shopping or take the boat to Lokrum Island (boat and entr. fee to the island not incl ca. €20). Today the island is a Special Reserve of Forest Vegetation under the strict protection of UNESCO. You can wander around the island (no cars are on this island) discover the monastery complex, Charlotte’s Well or the Gardens of Maximillian, chose to have a coffee at

the open-air cafeteria or just go for refreshing swim on the rocky beaches. Our bus will return from Dubrovnik to the ship at 18.00 hours.

Alberobello & the UNESCO Site of the Trulli

Departing from the port of Bari we discover that in Italy’s most southeastern region, there lies a most astounding valley. To get there, we drive through golden fields of grain and past gently undulating hills. And then you come to the Murge Valley. All of a sudden a vibrant green washes across the landscape, thanks to small groves of an oversized oak tree that grows only here. You will also see tropical vegetation - palm trees and bougainvilleas and gigantic hibiscus - as well as larger and healthier olive groves. And interspersed among all this verdant beauty, you will see the strange conical houses that exist only here. At first they appear one by one, like solitary mirages cowering amidst the olive trees. Gradually, as you drive on, they grow taller, and their whitewashed bases make them more visible. Soon you are spotting them in clusters of up to a dozen all attached to each other to make one larger dwelling. And then you drive into the little town of Alberobello, where they cover four entire hillsides, seeming for all the world like a cheerful white nativity scene recreated to true human dimensions. If this were California, Mr. Disney’s name would be visible on a neon sign. But it’s Apulia, and these houses were first built many centuries ago by the local inhabitants and were declared a world heritage site by UNESCO in 1996. (Attention: This excursion includes a rather strenuous 20 minutes walk from the bus parking area to the centre of the Trulli)

Split & Trogir

Situated in a small island squeezed in between the mainland and the larger island of Ciovo, Trogir is connected to the mainland with a bridge. Except for the green parks the entire island is occupied by spectacular constructions: bleached stone houses, palaces, churches, monasteries, towers, walls etc. The streets are narrow and they truly give a feel of how life might have been in the old days. You will see from the outside the main

attraction in Trogir - the Cathedral of St. Lawrence. This 13th century building is probably the finest example of sacral architecture in Croatia. The unusual construction with three naves and three semi circular apses dominates the whole town. Other fine buildings that will be viewed are the Town Loggia decorated with stone carvings, including one by great Croatian sculptor Ivan Mestrovic, the Town Hall, the Cipiko Palace etc. Continue with the drive back to Split. The Old Town of Split is built on and around the spectacular Roman Palace erected in the 4th century. During your walking tour you will see the Diocletian Palace and the very interesting Cathedral of St. Duje (patron saint of the city). The Cathedral is built on the remains of an ancient shrine and is supposed to be the oldest in the world. On your tour you will also see the Golden Gate, the Silver Gate and the Peristyle Square. After the walking tour you may spend some free time in the biggest city of Dalmatia and return on your own to the ship.

Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia

We depart early from Koper to visit Ljubljana, the capital city of Slovenia and one of the most charming cities in all of Europe, filled with museums, theatres, historic sites and many other attractions. During the 1.5 hour bus drive to reach the city, you can marvel at the beautiful countryside of Slovenia. After reaching the capital we will spend some 2.5 hours in the historic centre. Ljubljana’s Old Town is filled with churches and buildings dating all the way back to medieval times. The old world charm continues at Ljubljana Castle, whose tower (entrance fee not included) provides a magnificent view of the city. At the city centre lies Prešeren Square, which features the famous statue of Slovene national poet France Prešeren. Right off of the square is Cop Street, one of the main shopping streets in the city. The guide will walk with you to the Square of the Republic and will show you the Roman ruins which are a must. We continue our walk to the turn of the century Dragon Bridge and from there to Metelkova a place full of bars and nightlife. We return to Koper in the early afternoon.

Trieste to Malta

You can

46

wander around the island (no cars are on this island) discover the monastery complex, Charlotte’s Well or the Gardens of Maximillian, chose to have a coffee at the open-air cafeteria or just go for refreshing swim on the rocky beaches. Our bus will return from Dubrovnik to the ship at 18.00 hours.

Walled City of Budva & Unesco Town of Kotor

On our way to Budva we have a stop near the unique little island town of Sveti Stefan, connected to the shore by a causeway and crammed full of terracottaroofed stone dwellings. Gazing down on Sveti Stefan provides the biggest ‘wow’ moment on the entire coast but taking a photo is all we can do, as this tiny island is now the luxurious Aman resort, off limits to all but paying guests. We continue to Budva which is a vibrant coastal city with a modern flair. The old city of Budva is a small labyrinth of narrow lanes and we walk close to the Citadela, an ancient castle and the most significant fortification building of the Montenegrin Coast. Enjoy some free time discovering what this town has to offer: from a lively promenade filled with colourful coffee places and restaurants to old town filled with charming and tasteful souvenir shops. Back in Kotor, follow your guide on a walking tour of the city which boasts of Venetians architectural influences and is surrounded by an impressive, well preserved city wall protected by UNESCO. Once in Kotor you will soon see why the town was deemed a World Heritage Site as it offers its visitors a remarkably well preserved town centre with important buildings such as the cathedral of Sveti Tripun. Savour the beautiful atmosphere of this true gem of town before returning back by tender boat to our ship.

Alberobello & the UNESCO Site of the Trulli

Departing from the port of Bari we discover that in Italy’s most southeastern region, there lies a most astounding valley. To get there, we drive through golden fields of grain and past gently undulating hills. And then you come to the Murge Valley. All of a sudden a vibrant green washes across the landscape, thanks

to small groves of an oversized oak tree that grows only here.

Catania

Today we encourage you to come and see Catania, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the city known for its streets built with black lava stone from Mount Etna. We shall see Via Etnea, Via Crociferi, the Piazza Duomo and the “Liotru” statue, symbol of the city, the Roman Amphitheatre, the Opera House (external visit), the University and the noble Palace of Biscari (external visit). The guide will show you two of the “Seven Doors” protecting S. Agatha’s treasure, the famous “candelora”. You can also find an abundance of quaint shops, boutiques, great restaurants, very tempting cafeterias, with unique Sicilian ricotta or almond and pistachio cookies or traditional ice-creams (the first one in history was produced in this province). There will be ample free time for shopping before the bus takes you back to the ship for lunch at around 13.00 hours.

Bodrum Town

We depart from the port on a panoramic city tour of Bodrum Town. We pass near the Carian Princess Hall, a last reminder of the Hecatomnid dynasty until the city fell to the Macedonian armies of Alexander the Great. We go past Myndos Gate and proceed via the King Mausoleum to the Gumbet windmill landscape where we stop for photos. Our next stop will be at the ancient theatre of Halicarnassus (built in the late second century B.C) where the seating capacity was once 10,000 people. We then continue to St. Peter’s castle, a place in Bodrum that no visitor to this great city should miss. It overlooks the harbour and the international marina and was constructed by the Knights of St. John in the 15th century during the crusades of the middle ages. After a short explanation by the guide you will be given the option to visit the interior of the castle of St. Peter together with your guide (entrance fee not included – to be paid on the spot) or to go shopping at the nearby market. We shall meet again at the same spot and the bus will take us back to our ship for lunch.

Mykonos Island Tour

After disembarking (the ship might be on anchor, in which case we have to use tender boats to get ashore) we have a half day excursion to see a bit more of this beautiful island. It is after all the most famous Greek island and is established as the cosmopolitan centre of Cyclades. Arriving at the harbour of Mykonos we are welcomed by a row of windmills which stand guard looking out to the open sea. These windmills together with the pelicans are the symbols that signify Mykonos Island. Enjoy the drive over the little hills passing brilliant white sugar–cube buildings with splashes of colour from their bright blue shutters and beautiful flowers. We drive past some of the most wonderful beaches including Ornis Beach and Aghios Ioannis Beach, where ‘Shirley Valentine’ was filmed, before turning inland to visit Ano Mera, the most populated village on Mykonos. Ano Mera is not as crowded as

48

| Orange Travel Group

other parts of Mykonos during summer and has a long religious history, since the 18th century Monastery of Panagia Tourliani and the ruin of the 12th century Monastery of Paleokastro are to be found here. We shall have a short stop near the quaint central square for you to enjoy the traditional Mykonos atmosphere whilst looking at the little stalls selling fresh products and excellent local cheeses. We return via Kalafatis beach and St. John’s Bay to Mykonos Town. The guide will walk with you to the famous windmills and from there take you through the maze of narrow streets, filled with numerous souvenir shops, little bars and tavernas. Some free time for souvenir shopping before the bus takes us back to our ship.

Athens City Tour

We depart early from Piraeus harbour to reach Athens after short drive. On the way we see some of the stadiums which were built for the summer Olympics in 2004 and Microlimano, a beautiful little cove in Piraeus famous for its speciality restaurants. Upon arrival in Athens the bus will take us to a view-point from where we can have a look at the Acropolis, one of the wonders of the ancient world and the guide will give you a short introduction into Greek mythology and culture. We continue with a panoramic tour by bus showing you the major sights of Athens such as the Syntagma Square, the law courts, the Greek parliament, Hadrian’s Arch and the Old Olympic Stadium. We shall stop at the Plaka district, a most vividly colourful neighbourhood in the old town of Athens. This area is home to clothing boutiques, souvenir shops, speciality stores and numerous taverns and restaurants. Some free time for souvenir shopping will be allowed. We return for lunch to our ship.

Rethymno – Crete

Today we offer you an excursion to the exceptionally beautiful town of Rethymno which lies in the centre of Crete and surely is one of the highlights of any visit to Greece. It is built between the modern day capital of

the island, Heraklion, and the ancient capital of Chania. Rethymnon is the third largest city of the island and is a fascinating combination of old and new: In the old quarter, evidence of Rethymnon’s Venetian and Ottoman past is all around one. On our guided city walk you will be meandering through the narrow maze of streets that seem a world apart from the hustle and bustle of modern-day life. On the other hand, the new town provides residents and visitors alike with all the amenities and facilities one could wish for in the 21st century. Rethymno and its villages offer picture postcard views, which are pervaded by the aroma of Cretan cuisine and the sounds of the Cretan lyre. The great number of visitors who return repeatedly confirm the words of the poet: ”Rethymno is not a place where you go to, but a place where you return. We return to the Mein Schiff for lunch on-board.

Swimming at Chrissi Akti Beach

In the afternoon we offer you a transfer to the Golden Beach (greek: Hrissi Akti), one of the most beautiful in all of Crete, which is located 5 km west of Souda and a few meters east of Agii Apostoli. It actually consists of two sandy beaches separated by a small hill. The west cove is the main Golden Beach and the east one is called Aptera beach. The west bay, which is the most popular, is very well organized with umbrellas, lifeguards, showers, cafes, water sports etc. It has fine golden sand and shallow waters, making it also ideal for young children. Moreover, there is a playground for kids nearby. The sandy beach of Aptera, located on the other side of the hill, is more peaceful and less organized. There are the ruins of the hotel Aptera Beach, which was abandoned in the late 90s due to debts. The beach is very nice and suitable for those who seek for a place with relatively few people. The whole area to Agii Apostoli is full of small parks with pines and eucalyptuses. After approx. 2.5 hours of free time for swimming, the bus will take you back to the port of Souda.

Obligations of Orange Travel Group Limited

OTG binds itself to receive payment from the passenger on behalf of the Organiser/carrier in relation to any booking made by the passenger with the Organiser/carrier relating to any service offered by the Organiser/carrier to the passenger and to ensure that proposals, bookings and claims are forwarded to the Organiser/carrier on behalf of the passenger. Upon placing a booking with the relevant cruise company, the contract between the Organiser/ carrier and the passenger shall come into force and will be legally binding between the parties. Booking a holiday from this brochure implies the acceptance of both the conditions set by Cruise Company and those of Orange Travel Group Limited who is the exclusive preferred travel partner for Malta and Gozo. Once you have completed and signed the booking form and paid your deposit, as indicated hereunder, and have been issued a receipt, the booking is taken as confirmed and it is understood that you have read and accepted the terms and conditions referred to above of which you shall be given a copy together with your booking form. The travel confirmation contains the significant details of your booked services. Should the services in the travel confirmation differ from those in the booking then a new offer will be presented by the Organiser/carrier. In this case you have 7 days in which to accept the new offer. During this period the offer remains legally binding for the Organiser/carrier. Should you accept the new offer in writing within 7 days then the travel contract will be completed on this basis. Alterations to the cruise itineraries are possible e.g. due to official regulations, particular shipping conditions, medical emergencies, or when, due to adverse weather conditions, the Captain decides to alter the route in the interest of the safety of the passengers. The Captain alone makes the decisions on necessary itinerary changes and/or travel times. The Captains’ decision as to the route, ports of call and embarkation and disembarkation of passengers is final and OTG LTD is not liable for any claims made by the passenger with regards to the decisions made by the ships’ captain. Special terms and conditions apply for the cruise lines in accordance to international conventions. The rights of passengers in relation to carriers is also regulated by EU Regulation 1177/2010. Please make sure that you study and understand the terms and conditions which will be given to you upon booking the cruise

Payment

A deposit of €1000 per cabin must be effected in order to obtain a formal confirmation of your holiday. Full payment for your holiday must reach OTG at least 75 days prior departure and therefore you are requested to pay your travel agent at least 80 days prior to departure to allow the agent to effect payment in time. Should payment not be received by 75 days before departure, OTG shall have the right to consider your holiday as cancelled and charge all the applicable cancellation fees. If the due balance is not settled before the date of travel the passenger is not authorised to travel, furthermore, the passenger may be charged a cancellation fee. Travel documents are made available approximately 2 weeks prior departure either in form of e-docs or printed tickets. Notwithstanding what is provided above, cancellation and rebooking fees are due immediately. It is to be noted that OTG has appointed a number of agents or retailers in regards to the offers contained in this brochure. Nevertheless the moment you choose such an agent or retailer to effect payment to OTG, such payment is being made at your own risk. OTG bears no responsibility if monies paid by you to third parties are not received by OTG within the terms set above and will not be bound to honour any obligations if the terms set in this agreement are not honoured fully. All prices published in the brochure are based in Euros and are per person sharing a cabin. Prices include: all port taxes and fuel surcharges applicable on the date of printing. In lawful circumstances and within legal scope, OTG reserves the right to pass on any increases in the costs of transportation, taxes and exchange rates, provided the date of travel does not

fall within 21 days from departure. This is applicable exclusively for fare changes where cost factors were subject to unforeseeable changes after the conclusion of the contract. Significant and unpredictable reasons for a price increase are e.g. the increase in public dues, the increase in value-added tax, changes in the world oil prices, changes in harbour dues, or, in particular cases, a more than 10% increase in the EURO vs. US-Dollar exchange rate. To the same extent an adjustment of the agreed travel fare is permitted should there be a change in the official passenger tariffs. As proof of the legitimacy of a price change, OTG will provide certification of each cost and rate increase for you to check. In case of alterations of prices or services OTG will contact you immediately but no later than 21 days prior to the scheduled sailing date. Increases after that date are not allowed. You have to assert your rights against OTG immediately after OTG has informed you about alterations of price.

Financial Aspect

Prices published in the brochure are based on the cruise prices, land arrangements, port taxes and fuel surcharges valid at the time of printing (you will bear the cost of any tax and fuel surcharge increases that may be imposed following the date of printing). In accordance with law, any change to the costs mentioned above may result to in an increase in the prices. Increases due to currency fluctuations and tax and fuel surcharges do not give you the right to cancel your holiday without incurring cancellation fees. You can cancel your contract at any time before date of travel. As means of proof, cancellations should be made in writing. Your cancellation notice is effective upon receipt by OTG. Should you cancel your booking or not commence the holiday, OTG reserves the right to levy charges for made travel provisions and expenses incurred. When calculating the charges, OTG takes into account the services saved and the possible other use of the services. OTG may claim cancellation fees expressed as a percentage of the travel fare according to the amount of notice given between cancellation date and departure date, as listed below.

Cancellation fees: Up to 340 days before: 339 to 120 days: 119 to 90 days: 89 to 60 days: 59 to 30 days: 29 days of less:

€100 per cabin €1,000 per cabin 25% of the total fare or €1,000 per cabin (whichever is higher). 50% of the total fare or €1,000 (whichever is higher) 75% of the total fare or €1,000 (whichever is higher) 100% of the total fare

Booking Changes

Your booking can be changed upon request and will be subject to the availability (re-booking) at that time. This can be done until 30 days before date of travel. OTG charges the sum imposed by the relative cruises company. Should you wish to make a rebooking less than 30 days before date of travel, then booking changes can only be made, if at all possible, by cancelling the travel contract subject to the cancellation fees indicated above. Any form of alteration made to the date of travel, destination or place of commencement, accommodation, the cabin or mode of transport is considered as a change. Any special requests made by the passenger together with his booking shall be communicated by OTG to the carrier, however, unless the carrier shall have confirmed in writing to the passenger that such special request will be entertained, such special request shall not be a part of the booking or form part of the contract between the passenger and the carrier. In any case, OTG shall bear no responsibility or liability in relation thereto.

Replacements

Up to the date of travel i.e. taking into consideration a reasonable amount of time for organisational matters, you may demand that a third party takes over all rights and liabilities of your travel contract with the Organiser/carrier. OTG reserves the right to decline making such a request on your behalf or that of the third party should the third party not meet the travel requirements or should there be legal restrictions or an official directive against his/ her participation. Should a third party enter the contract then he/she and you are liable as co-debtors for the travel fare and the additional costs caused by the third party entering in your stead.

Flights

The right is reserved to substitute alternative airlines and/or aircraft if necessary. Flight timings are subject to confirmation and alteration. Some flights may have intermediate stops en route and as factors effecting this are not always known before departure date we cannot always notify you in advance. Flights are subject to the granting of permits and licenses by authorities both in Malta and overseas. In the event of your flight arrangements being changed or cancelled as outlined in this section, we accept no liability for extra costs or consequential loss arising, directly or indirectly, from any independent contract arrangements between the client and a third party. All flights are non-smoking.

Name Changes

At time of booking all passengers names need to be submitted to OTG. Names need to be congruent with the valid passengers’ passports. OTG reserves the right to pass on the relevant charges applicable at the time for name changes after the option is confirmed.

Changes

The Cruise Ship Management reserves the right to change the itinerary due to bad weather or industrial action, in which case neither the cruise company nor OTG are liable to pay any form of compensation for the missed ports or the change of programme. If any portion of holiday is lost due to natural disasters, bad weather, industrial action, war, government restrictions or any matter of force majeure, neither The Cruise Ship Management nor OTG or their subcontractors can be held liable to pay compensation for damages incurred. In the event that a ship is prevented to enter a port in order to either embark (to start a cruise holiday), or disembark (to finish a cruise holiday) due to bad weather, industrial action, or such unexpected circumstances, OTG shall be responsible to convey the passengers to the next possible port of embarkation or disembarkation but it is also being hereby understood that neither The Cruise Ship Management nor OTG shall be liable to pay any expenses related to loss of holiday or other sorts of moral damages arising from such circumstances since these are completely out of the control of both The Cruise Ship Management and OTG. Cancellation after date of travel Should you cancel after the date of travel then the charges for return transport and other additional costs will be charged to you as traveller. Should travel be largely hindered, endangered or affected due to a force majeure (e.g. through war, natural disasters, government authority measures, transport embargoes, ship loss or other similar incidents) which were not predictable at the time of conclusion of the contract, then both the passenger and OTG may cancel the contract. In the event of OTG cancelling the holiday prior to departure, the passengers receive a refund of all sums paid to OTG. No other compensation shall be paid. Any claims relating to any cancellation and or delay in departure is to be addressed to the carrier or the terminal operator as per EU Regulation 1177/2007 and OTG shall bear no responsibility or liability were such cancellation or delay is solely attributable to the carrier or terminal operator.

Terrorist attacks/Civil Strife

Carrier will provide for the payment of compensation for passengers in the event of the cancellation or delay of a passenger service based on a percentage of the ticket price, except when the cancellation or delay occurs due to weather conditions endangering the safe operation of the ship or to extraordinary circumstances (including but not be limited to, natural disasters such as fires and earthquakes, terrorist attacks, wars and military or civil armed conflicts, uprisings, military or illegal confiscations, labour conflicts, landing any sick, injured or dead person, search and rescue operations at sea or on inland waterways, measures necessary to protect the environment, decisions taken by traffic management bodies or port authorities, or decisions by the competent authorities with regard to public order and safety as well as to cover urgent transport needs) which could not have been avoided even if all reasonable measures had been taken.

Passport, Visa, Customs, Currency and Health Requirements

OTG will be responsible to inform you of passport, visa and health requirements and possible changes thereof prior to starting the journey solely so far as these apply to citizens of Malta. OTG may delegate this instruction to a third party. Citizens of other countries, please check passport, visa and any other entry requirements with your own country’s embassy. In doing so, OTG assumes that there are no peculiarities in the customer itself and potential fellow travellers (e.g. dual citizenship, statelessness). The customer is responsible for obtaining and entrainment of required documents, potential mandatory vaccination as well as compliance to customs and exchange control regulations. Inconveniences that might accrue from noncompliance of these regulations e.g. payment of cancellation fees are for your account. OTG is not liable for changes in political circumstances or entry regulations, making an entry to the country or destination difficult or impossible. In the event that it is necessary to make changes we will always try to advise you in advance, but this cannot be guaranteed. All travellers (adults & children) must provide us with their full passport information at least 6 weeks prior to the travel date. For embarkation purposes only passports with a validity of 6 months beyond the return date will be accepted. ID cards, residence permits and driving licences are not accepted.

Restrictions and Exclusions of Conveyance

It is important to note that for safety reasons infants under the age of 6 months are not allowed on board Cruise ships and passengers who will have entered their 24th week of pregnancy by the time of their travel will not be permitted boarding. A medical certificate establishing due date and fitness to travel must accompany an expectant mother’s application for passage. Any physical challenge or medical condition that requires special treatment or attention must be reported at the time of reservation. You are asked to complete the questionnaire provided by the Organiser/carrier in order to confirm compliance with the Organiser/carriers’ requirements. In such a case, conditions may be imposed for travel by the passenger in question and the reservation may be revoked or refused by OTG or The Cruise Ship Management if in their judgement the passenger is in physical or mental conditions which render him unfit for cruise travel. The reservation may also be revoked or refused if the passenger requires care beyond what can be provided by OTG or The Cruise Ship Management. For safety reasons it is not allowed to bring on board portable oxygen concentrators, oxygen gas cylinders and liquid oxygen units. Also, you must inform the travel agent at time of booking if you or any one of your group intends to take medical needles for

syringes on board. All physically impaired passengers must be self-sufficient and should travel with a passenger who will provide any assistance needed during the cruise or in the event of an emergency. Wearing diapers in the swimming pools or whirlpools is not allowed. People and children dependent on diapers are not allowed in the pools.

Minors not travelling with their parents/legal guardian

Carriers do not accept unaccompanied minors under 18 years on the date of outward travel and children will not be allowed to embark unless they are accompanied by a parent or guardian. In order for a booking to be accepted where minors are not travelling with their parents/legal guardian a notarised letter is to be made available to us and presented upon check in by the responsible accompanying adult. Failure to present this notarised authorisation by the parents/ legal guardians will result in denied boarding for the minor.Children on board should be supervised by a parent or guardian at all times, and are welcome at activities on board or at shore excursions provided that a parent or guardian is present. Children cannot remain on board if their parent(s) or guardian go(es) ashore.

Boarding and Embarkation

Passengers are to keep in mind to board the ship at the embarkation port no less than four hours before the scheduled departure time. It is the guest‘s responsibility not to miss such final boarding time and the ship’s scheduled departure from the embarkation port. Any and all costs incurred as a result of not boarding the ship on time at the embarkation port shall be borne by the guest. In all ports of call you must return to the ship no less than one hour before the scheduled departure time. Please consider that shipboard and shoreside clocks may have different times, but it is the guest‘s responsibility to return to the ship so as not to miss the ship‘s departure. Any costs associated with transporting the guest to rejoin the ship including, but not limited to, government fees, visa fees, subsistence, lodging, air fare, launch fare, car hire or agency fees shall be borne by the guest. Loss or damage to baggage during embarkation or disembarkation must be reported. You are obliged to notify the relevant authority or an official agent thereof in writing. Should baggage which has been handled or stored by the crew be noticeably damaged externally then you must report this upon receipt of your baggage. Should you not fulfil these obligations then you are not entitled to make a claim. Passengers’ own carrying, storing and handling of baggage on board the cruise vessel will always be at passengers’ own risk.

Accommodation types

Note: room configurations and sizes vary by ship.

Representation

As specified, on respective programmes some cruises are escorted by an English speaking representative whose job is to assist during the cruise and land arrangements. The representative is under no circumstance responsible to carry out work (unless for emergency) over and above the official programme and is not obliged to accompany members of the group around shops, flea markets, theme parks or similar.

Claims

Claims and Complaints relating solely and exclusively to shore excursions organised by OTG as clearly indicated in the brochure are to be made in writing to OTG. within fifteen days from arrival back to Malta. Complaints or claims not accompanied by full documentation [Copies of booking, travel confirmation, copies of payments made, details of claim and complaint, evidence in support of claim or complaint] will not be considered and/or processed and will be taken as never having been made. OTG strongly recommends that the passenger takes a travel insurance to cover risks relating to the package being acquired by him/her. It is important that the passenger adheres strictly to the conditions of his/her insurance policy and to report any loss or damage event to the competent authorities without delay following such occurrence.
