L’Oréal Colour Trophy Celebrates 65 Years
Image credit: Rush Hair Monday 13 September 2021 saw the L’Oréal Colour Trophy 65th Grand Final take place at Battersea Evolution, London.
The virtual event was a stunning mix of pre-recorded content and live shows, with thousands watching from their homes and salons.
Guests witnessed the central stage come alive with breath-taking lighting, enthralling stage effects, chest thumping music and mesmerising hairdressing talent, all presented by celebrity host, TV and Radio presenter Vick Hope. Vick took the audience on an exciting hair-inspired journey ending with the announcement of this year’s winners.
Lorraine Hume Hairdressing, Randalstown was announced as the overall winner of the UK L’Oréal Colour Trophy Award 2021. And for Ireland, Wildflower, Dublin secured the top spot.

Robert Eaton, a regular contributor to Concept Hair Magazine, was named British Hairdresser of the Year at a glittering ceremony held on 29 November 2021 at London’s prestigious Grosvenor House hotel.
Robert was one of 10 nominees for the prestigious title, recognised around the world as the ultimate hairdressing accolade.
The British Hairdressing Awards also saw talent recognised in a number of regional and specialist categories, including Newcomer of the Year, which was won by an ecstatic, Abbie Johnson, from Mark Leeson in Mansfield.
Wella TrendVision Award
The Wella TrendVision Award UK & Ireland 2021 winners were announced at the live Grand Final event, which took place at London’s iconic Roundhouse in Camden Town.
More than 700 guests joined the event live, with an equal number joining digitally on the evening, to celebrate the many talents who made it to the final stage of this incredible competition.
The night was hosted by broadcaster and style icon, Fearne Cotton, who was joined by Wella’s legendary artist, Patrick Cameron.
As well as recognising all the winners, the night saw stunning shows by leading industry names, including Robert Eaton, HOB Salons and D&J Ambrose.

November 2021 saw the launch of Concept Hair’s Career Styler — a guide to everything that makes hairdressing such an inspirational and rewarding career.
