CLEANER AND SAFER CHOICES

Solid fuel and biomass are increasing in popularity as homeowners and installers realise the benefits of burning an approved fuel that meets the requirements of Air Quality legislation, and is certified under DEFRA’s Ready to Burn scheme which is administered by HETAS and Woodsure. HETAS and Woodsure work together to support cleaner and safer choices for the use of biomass and other solid fuels, appliances and associated technologies. GAIN IN POPULARITY

Wood burning stoves and pellet appliances are appealing to homeowners as a means of secondary heating, complementing the primary heat source of gas or oil. They could become even more popular in the future as the UK turns to greener energy alternatives.
