MEET THE FACULTY DR. KEVIN SNYDER
A bit about your professional background: My academic background is in sport and strategic management. I also have some expertise in data analytics and sustainability – both evolved from interests related to my academic background. While my SNHU career has focused in these areas, my bachelor’s degree is in accounting and information systems. I worked for a public accounting firm in Maryland for three years before going back to school for an MBA, with a concentration in sport marketing. When I finished my MBA, I decided to continue for a PhD. SNHU was my first job. Along the way, I have also worked for the San Antonio Spurs in the NBA and completed consulting projects for the NHL, NYC Marathon, National Lacrosse League, and others.
What do you feel is unique about SNHU? SNHU faculty and staff work closer with students than most other schools. There’s a team of people willing to help students pursue career opportunities, individual interests, or follow the spark of an idea. Additionally, New Hampshire is a great place to live! Being at SNHU puts you close to Boston, to the beach, and to the mountains.

MEET THE FACULTY DR. KEVIN SNYDER
Why is education important to me and the world at large? I grew up in a household that really valued education. My parents and grandparents frequently described how education helped better their lives. From this, I’ve discovered that any type of learning is important – whether meeting new people, exploring quirky interests, or getting a formal education. For the world, education helps share ideas, practices, cultures, etc. This enriches our lives and helps us understand more about ourselves.
How do you continue to learn and evolve as a leader in higher education? One of the things I enjoy most about SNHU is the ability to play different roles and learn about new topics. As a small school, there’s always a need for someone to lead a new pursuit. For example, based on my interests and those of students, I’ve been lucky enough to build classes in sustainability, sports analytics, sport agency and others. I’m always looking for little projects that help advance my skills.

Beyond work as a profession, what are you passionate about and what do you enjoy doing? Traveling! I’ve been lucky to get to many places within the United States and several other countries. I really enjoy finding unique restaurants and wandering through a new place. Often, I’ll try to find a way to combine urban settings with those in nature. Some of my favorite places are Banff (Canada), Barcelona, Sao Paulo, and San Diego.

Vasilopita tradition
In a festive celebration of the Vasilopita tradition, Dr. Sophia’s class came together to mark the occasion with joy and camaraderie. The sweet aroma of freshly baked Vasilopita filled the air as students gathered to share the traditional Greek New Year's cake. With excitement, they sliced into the cake, discovering the hidden coin that brought luck to the fortunate recipient, fostering a sense of community and goodwill among classmates.
