Meet tHE Faculty Prof. Elizabeth Sheehan Hello! I am Professor Sheehan and this is my sixteenth year here at SNHU. I can't believe it! Before I came to SNHU, I worked in the field of Sport Management, specifically I worked in the event marketing and corporate partnership areas of the industry. I have worked in organizations related to Collegiate athletics, sport agencies, youth sports and all within those areas of sports specifically management. I would say sport management is my primary love, that's one of the reasons that I designed a course here. When I first started way back in 2005 and 2006, focused on sport management where students actually got hands on learning experience, designing, creating, and then executing in the events.

Why I chose SNHU I am a New Englander, I am originally from Connecticut. I just love New England and I love the season. geographically this was a great fit; I love that it was really a teaching institution meaning we really put a lot of emphasis on faculty's role, the classroom, and the work they do with students. That was really important to me because I get the most satisfaction when I see students succeed. That's really why I became a faculty member and I got into teaching. Why I became interested in my field

I grew up an athlete and I still believe that sports have a tremendous impact. It can have an impact, and it had an impact in my life and my place in team sports. I think that shines through my interest in management as well. As an event really requires a team, it requires a lot collaboration. Everybody has their role in order to do their parts, they have to be ready to jump in and do whatever is necessary for those ultimate goals of that event. I think that's what drew me to the field. Advice for students

To be open to new experiences, to get out of comfort zones, to be willing to try new things but also make sure those things align with what you value.
