Jacqueline Larocco With websites like Pinterest, Etsy and Instagram, it can be hard to have an original and unique wedding. There are so many creative ideas for weddings and receptions. Although it seems as soon as you find one that sticks out, everyone is already doing it and posting it online. So how can you make your wedding special and personalized just for you?

to bring to life. Utilizing professional, certified vendors is one of the smartest decisions any planner can make. Use vendors who come highly recommended. When you hire a professional who is certified, accredited, or otherwise referred, you are setting yourself up for success. These business people will show up on time, they will provide the actual products you’ve requested and your bill will accurately reflect what you originally intended to spend. Hiring professionals is a necessary investment, which you should place at the top of your list.

When you think it is party time, or rather, when you know it is wedding time, begin with the guest list. The guest list, which begins as names of loved ones, turns into a numbers game. The number you derive from your guest list will be tied to every single party expense (save your get-away car and honeymoon if it's a wedding). The cost of your catering bill, staffing, any rental items, tables, chairs, entertainment and every single detail you add to the plan will be determined by this guest list number. In turn, this will let you know how gently or with what aggression, this soiree is going to hit your pocket book. Welcome your guests with open arms as they arrive, fill their empty fists with their drink of choice quicker than they can order it, introduce them and lead by example - mingling and making merry, then beg them to stay just a bit longer as they say their good-byes. STYLE

THE NEW BLUSHING BRIDE BY

Brittany Newton With weddings as the inspiration for this month’s fashion article—I looked to the most surprising and buzzed about celebrity wedding in the last 6 months. The nuptials took place on a beach in Southern Italy at an undisclosed location. The groom sang the bride an original song and the bride wore Giambattista Valli. This secretive celebrity wedding was that of Jessica Biel and Justin Timberlake. After the initial grieving of the fact that Justin will in fact never bump into me at a coffee shop and fall in love with me, I realized as well as the rest of the world—the bride was not in white!

areas. It's a good time of the year to begin your exercise regime and get as healthy as possible.

PISCES (FEBRUARY 19 - MARCH 20) Some unexpected good fortune in your finances can be a trigger for new business activities. With Jupiter transiting your zone of domestic activities there may be some tie in with real estate or speculations of this nature. Be careful of your expenditure this month as the Sun and Mercury move through your zone of unbridled spending. Meditation and spiritual activities seem to be part of your growth process just now and between the 8th and the 15th you may find yourself actively engaged in working on your inner Self.

GEMINI (MAY 21 - JUNE 20) Mars activates your career sector today that Neptune also means that you are a little confused about how to best proceed. Trust your instincts. You may have to change your work schedule between the 3rd and the 5th. You can also make sure that your health is up to par so you can deal with some of the responsibilities that will come your way. Venus is, however, lucky for travel and other cultural or educational pursuits. New opportunities arise after the eighth. Be aware enough to take advantage of them.

ARIES (MARCH 21 - APRIL 19) You are idealistic about finances and after the 4th you may have a brainstorm about some new business ideas that you wish to implement. You are at odds with your colleagues after the 7th but things smooth over by the 19th. Be careful not to push yourself too hard this month as the difficult aspects between the Sun and Mars could indicate mishaps or problems physically.

CANCER (JUNE 21 - JULY 22) Don’t allow money to get in the road of good relationships this month. You’ll be focused on joint finances, other banking issues, but more importantly debts. Who has spent the most money could become a key issue. The new Moon of the 10th triggers a new approach to money and could be the start of better things financially.

TAURUS (APRIL 20 - MAY 20) You have a tremendous amount of willpower to achieve anything you put your mind to. You may be very pushy around the 19th, so be careful not to rush around too much as you could be accident prone. Direct those energies into useful and constructive

LEO (JULY 23 - AUGUST 22) The new Moon in your marriage and public affairs zone indicates some new developments in this area of your life. In the second week of February, you have the chance to turn things around and do things your way. Don't be afraid to step up to the

AQUARIUS (JANUARY 20 - FEBRUARY 18) With the Sun in your Sun sign, you can feel energized and very physically motivated as Venus enters your Aquarium sun sign on the 2nd; this should also indicate a month your social instincts will be at their peak. Be mindful of problems, financially, after the 5th when Mars and Neptune create some confusion in this department of your life. The position of Saturn in your career zone indicates some rather intense responsibilities that you may need to work through. plate and make your feelings known. After the 17th you will experience an uplift in your professional affairs as well. Profits are also strong during the period of the 20th onwards.

VIRGO (AUGUST 23 - SEPTEMBER 22) You are confused about relationships on every front this month and Mars and Neptune indicate your focus is on keeping your love real. It can be difficult to sift out what is real from what is imaginary. People will be giving mixed signals and you'll kick yourself when you can't quite understand or relate to what is going on. Some new regime or schedule may need to underpin your relationships this month. Try to develop your own skills and not be too reliant on other people.

LIBRA (SEPTEMBER 23 - OCTOBER 22) The new Moon in your zone of love affairs is telling a tale of the excitement and possibly new relationships that begin during this month. A new romance may occur sometime around the 10th or a little after. If you happen to be in a relationship then this could be a great omen for an improvement in your current relationship and a resolution of some problems that have been ongoing. Some of your financial concerns should now be lifting.

SCORPIO (OCTOBER 23 - NOVEMBER 21) The focus this month is on home life, communications with family members and

modifying your living space to some extent. With the Moon transiting your zone of sequence and private affairs, it’s more than likely you will want to spend more time alone rather than socializing with too many people. The Moon and Uranus combination heralds some sudden shift in your attitudes towards work. It could be an opportunity to start something new on the professional front.

SAGITTARIUS (NOVEMBER 22 - DECEMBER 21) You have plenty of opportunities to socialize this month and you’ll be unnamed by that which is unusual. Between the 2nd and the 6th you may find your social interactions more of a distraction from troubles on the home front because Mars ruffles your feathers in your domestic sphere. You will need to keep a cool head. Communications do well with Venus activating a more diplomatic style and an interest in culture, beauty and artistic aspects of life. Be careful after the 25th when tempers flare up again.

CAPRICORN (DECEMBER 22 - JANUARY 19) Money could be a problem this month if you are not clear in determining the way you want negotiations to be conducted. You will spend a lot even though you earn quite a lot as well. You will feel emotional about your work and by the 15th may have to make some choices between profession and family responsibilities. After the 19th health matters may be spotlighted. so6ix.com | FEBRUARY 2013

ALLIE FLIESCHFRESSER Allie Flieschfresser was born in Phoenix, Ariz. Although she dreamed of being a ballerina as a child she has become the event coordinator for Western Concepts Restaurant Group. Her life has taken her in a different direction that could be traced back to her upbringing. "Growing up in the restaurant industry has made this job easy and fun for me," said Flieschfresser. "I think if I was raised differently I wouldn't be doing this right now." Flieschfresser truly enjoys her work, even though she has learned about the stress that comes with planning large events, such as weddings. "When the time comes, I am eloping!" said Flieschfresser. "I've also learned in dealing with people, but most people are really easy and fun to work with." Flieschfresser has many positives about her job, particularly when everything comes together for a bride. "What I enjoy most about my job, is that I get to plan parties for the special events in people’s lives," said Flieschfresser. "It really is a great seeing the look on the person’s face when they walk into a big surprise party, or seeing a bride on her special day." 60

PAUL RUDNICKI Paul Rudnicki is the owner of the Sandy Beaches Tanning Salons. His involvement in the tanning industry began in 1999 while attending

the

University

of

Oklahoma.

Rudnicki managed the Sandy Beaches salons on the OU campus. After graduating with an Economics Degree, he purchased the salon. Understanding the budgetary needs of college students, Rudnicki offers affordable tanning memberships with no contracts at all of his metro locations. The number of locations has grown to four: two in Norman, one in Northwest Oklahoma City and one in Midwest City. In 2009, Rudnicki opened Rock Paper Scissor Hair and Nail Studio across the street from the University of Oklahoma dormitories and Greek housing. He also developed and is in charge of SEO ranking for the www.OKCMetroLiving.com Real Estate website, Founder/Worked with the Men's Association of Norman and is an active volunteer for the Cavett Kids Foundation. so6ix.com | FEBRUARY 2013
