JULIO DE LA GARZA, ASHLEY DE LA GARZA, JUDY DAVIS, AND RUBEN GUTIERREZ On November 12, 202, the Valley Symphony Orchestra began its 70th anniversary season with “From the New World,” a concert featuring Antonin Dvorak’s Symphony No. 9. The full orchestra performance was the ensemble’s first since the Covid-19 shutdown in 2020. Held at the McAllen Performing Arts Center, the concert was sponsored by Dr. William and Mrs. Evelyn Gillum, Drs. Tawhid and Mihaela Shuaib, and Mrs. Wanda Boush.
