On November 12, 202, the Valley Symphony Orchestra began its 70th anniversary season with “From the New World,” a concer t featuring Antonin Dvorak’s Symphony No. 9. The full orchestra performance was the ensemble’s first since the Covid-19 shutdown in 2020. Held at the McAllen Performing Arts Center, the concert was sponsored by Dr. William and Mrs. Evelyn Gillum, Drs. Tawhid and Mihaela Shuaib, and Mrs. Wanda Boush.
