Make-A-Wish Rio Grande Valley

RGV’s SPARKLE OF HOPE

Make-A-Wish Rio Grande Valley grants wishes to children with critical illnesses residing in Hidalgo, Willacy, Cameron, Starr, Kenedy, and Brooks counties. For children diagnosed with critical illnesses, a wish come true can be a crucial turning point in their lives.

Wishes are more than just a “nice thing;” they are far more than gifts or singular events in time. Wishes impact everyone involved—wish kids, volunteers, donors, sponsors, medical professionals, and communities.

For wish kids, making their wishes come true can give them the courage to comply with their medical treatments. Parents might finally feel like they can be optimistic. And others might realize all they have to offer the world through volunteer work or philanthropy.

Make-A-Wish’s mission is to grant life-changing wishes for all critically ill children who qualify. Their journey begins with a sparkle of hope that develops into a wish. This year Make-A-Wish Rio Grande Valley celebrates 25 years of creating hope, strength, and joy for children and their families. The Rio Grande Valley chapter has granted over 1,455 wishes to local children with critical illnesses.

We welcome the community to be involved with our chapter. Please contact our office for volunteer opportunities or host a meet-and-greet with our chapter to learn more. To refer a child to Make-A-Wish, please visit www.wish.org/refer-a-child.
