RGV BALLET’S 50TH ANNIVERSARY PERFORMANCE OF THE NUTCRACKER IS MAGICAL

Rio Grande Valley Ballet and Artistic Director, Deborah Case celebrated their 50th anniversary of The Nutcracker at McAllen Performing Arts Center, Dec. 10-11, 2022, to a nearly sold-out audience. The performances were to a live orchestra conducted by Dr. Norman Gamboa. The cast of over 100 dancers, ranging in age from six years old to adult, captivated audiences with colorful costumes and delightful performances. Guest artists Michael Rodriguez and William Kauffmann were featured in this year’s cast.

A Storybook Christmas In Edinburg

In December, the City of Edinburg hosted a 2-for-1 holiday extravaganza with the ‘Santa and Sirens’ Firestoppers Festival and ‘A Storybook Christmas’ Parade!

The 30th Annual Firestoppers Festival was a night full of fun, food, entertainment, and live music performances by Tejano Highway 281, Conjunto Cats, and Spare Parts. Families brought their lawn chairs and blankets to enjoy the music at Edinburg’s new amphitheater. Residents also lined the streets to enjoy a beautifully lighted parade full of brightly decorated floats, marching bands, and a visit from Santa Claus!
