Show Stopper: 5th Annual Palm Awards

The 5th Annual Palm Awards, hosted by ground-breaking comedian and actress Cristela Alonzo, took the stage at the McAllen Performing Arts Center on Wednesday, May 10, to much fanfare and a standing ovation. Students from school districts across the Rio Grande Valley showcased their talent in front of a sold-out crowd of over 1800 in attendance, with another 1400 plus watching live on the Telemundo 40 Live Stream. This year $25,000 in scholarships were awarded to Palm Award winners in 25 categories with community support of the arts. Four Palm Award students will be invited to perform at the National Hispanic Foundation for the Arts Noche De Gala in Washington, DC, on September 20. This was truly a showstopper of a season!
