The Valley Alliance of Mentors for Opportunities and Scholarships (VAMOS) networking mixer was held on May 25, 2023, at North Park Lexus Rio Grande Valley to increase awareness of our mission of serving students from low socioeconomic backgrounds. Thanks for the unwavering support and new connections to help enrich our program to increase membership, attract new mentors and volunteers, and garner new essential donors. Thank you to The Greater Pharr Chamber of Commerce, North Park Lexus Rio Grande Valley, and Santa Fe Steakhouse, who graciously sponsored this event.

VAMOS was established in 1996 by local business leaders in response to the low university graduation rate among Hispanic students in the Rio Grande Valley. Since its inception, VAMOS has awarded over $24 million in scholarships to over 1100 students in Hidalgo, Cameron, and Starr counties. VAMOS awards four-year renewable scholarships to graduating high school seniors from low socioeconomic backgrounds.
