Goliad Lions Club Goliad Lions feed Habitat for Humanity workers On Saturday, September 6, members of the Goliad Lions Club fed lunch to workers from the area Habitat For Humanity and from the office of Dr. Daniel Garza, DDS who volunteered their time to help.

Port O’Connor Lions Club

On August 16th, Lions Joyce Jordan and Lynn Reeves set up shop at the Speedy Stop in POC. In 3 hrs, from 9 am to noon, we collected several pounds of supplies and $$438 in cash! We turned that over to the POC Elementary School the following Tuesday and left the Principal's office with a promise of more to come. We put collection tubs and cans at Speedy Stop and First National Bank for the entire month. At the end of the month, Lions Joyce and Dell Weathersby deliver 2 tubs of Supplies and $162 for a total of $600.00 ! --- from Lion Lynn Reeves

Alvin Evening Lions Club The Alvin Evening Lions Club will host our 4th annual Texas Hold 'em Tournament, Saturday, October 4, 2014 at the American Legion Hall in Alvin (206 S. Durant Street). Doors open at 6 pm; light refreshments provided. BYOB, beer and set-ups available for purchase. $40 to play. Visa gift cards for top three winners. Silent and live auctions. La Marque Lions Club LM Lions will be participating in the LM Bayou fest on October 18th. One of the Bayou fest founders was our own Cowboy Jones. LM Lions will be sponsoring the Kids fishing tournament and the Kids Pumpkin Patch. We will be holding our very first Cowboy Jones Washer tournament. We will be selling BBQ sandwiches along with Beer and Water. We will be drawing the winning ticket for our Texan and Cowboy Beach chairs raffle. Tickets for the drawing are available for $5.00.

La Marque Lions Club


Brazoria Lions Club Tickets are now on sale for the Brazoria Lions Club annual "99 Guns & a 4-wheeler" fund raiser. $20 a ticket. There will be 100 winners. You don't have to be there to win. Proceeds are used to fund Lion's projects for "those who are less fortunate". A list including Davis Tire & Auto & The T-Shirt Shop in Brazoria will be published with more locations to get the tickets. We will be at Walmart in Lake Jackson Wednesday, September 10, 10:00 am until ? and other locations to be announced later. For more information call 979-798-4444.

13th Annual Kid’s Fishing Derby Texas City Host Lions Club

Saturday-October 11, 2014 Sign-Up Location: La Marque Highland Bayou Park From Houston, Exit 10...Stay on Feeder Road, turn right on Highland Bayou Road, just past Ron Hoover RV-Marine No Rain-out Date! Registration: 7:30-8:00 am Fishing Time: 8:00-10:00 am Free Event-Children must be registered to fish the Derby!!! *****Trophies awarded to the winner of each category. ***** Trophy Categories: Longest Fish, Shortest Fish, Most Fish Caught, Most Unusual Catch and Best Looking Fish! Kemah Lions Club

Kemah Lions Club had their First Annual Classic Car Show at the Kemah Boardwalk on Saturday, September 13. Small turnout due to weather but the folks that came were truly enjoying the cars and learning about the Lions in Kemah. Volunteers included Lions Cathy Bowen, Marianne Creely, President Bill Kerber, Sylvia and Lee Streater, Mary Proudy, Billie Jean Higginbotham, Greg Collins, Tom La Santa, Helen Pausewang. Surprise visitors were District 2-S4 Governor Mitch and Carolyn Thames with granddaughter. Look out for next year!

Kemah Lions Club


Woodsboro Lions Club Woodsboro Lions started the new year with a "Bang" by having our July 4th celebration on the Square. Activities included a 5K Run, parade, live auction, crafts & food vendors, children's games, arm wrestling contest, watermelon eating contest, hot dog eating contest, street dance with music by local musicians, and raffle. We all enjoyed the day & everyone (including our new members) did their part in providing community fun! We will be holding our Punt, Pass, & Kick on Wednesday, Sept. 24, at Woodsboro Elementary, with P.E. teacher & Lion Pam Harris in charge. The club is also planning a 5K Walk/Run in November. We will be kicking off the Peace Poster Contest before the end of this month,with 6th graders at WES participating.

Center When: September 17, 2014 Why: One of the president's goals is to touch the senior citizen demographic in our community. Every other month, the Bay City Evening Lions will call bingo for the residents of Matagorda Nursing and Rehab. Center and provide prizes.

VICTORIA DOWNTOWN "BOOT FEST" 2014 PHOTO BOOTH

The VICTORIA DOWNTOWN LIONS CLUB will sponsor a photo booth at the Victoria Boot Fest
on October 3rd & 4th at the DeLeon Plaza in downtown Victoria. The hours on Friday, October
3rd: are 5:00 PM to 12:00 AM. Saturday, October 4th: hours 10:00 AM to 12:00 AM finalized with a
spectacular fireworks display at 11:00 PM.

There are lots to do and see but come see us and say "HOWDY" to your fellow lions and get your souvenir pictures taken with a western flair. "Bring Your Boots" and vests and enjoy the festivities., There are car and truck shows, great music, and free fun and games for the kids. There will be lots
of good food and drink available.

Santa Fe Lions Club Our club put out 73 flags on Labor Day. One of our members delivered School Supplies to our "Adopted Family", which we take care of all year. We are planning the Santa Fe Heritage Festival, which will be held on November 8, 2014, at Runge Park in Santa Fe, Texas. We are one of the five sponsors of the Heritage Festival.

League City Evening Lions Club

On September 9 and September 23, 2014 club meetings the League City Evening Lions Club members are preparing for the upcoming Food Booth/Craft Booths for the Space City Cruiser Car Show. This event will be held October 18, 2014 at Walter Hall Park in League City. All committees gave reports on their progress for the booths. This is our Fall fundraising event.

League City Evening Lions Club At the September 9, 2014 regular League City Evening Lions Club meeting a motion was made and passed for 2 donations. Our club made a donation to the Hitchcock Lions Charter Night. We also passed a motion to donate to the Faith Assembly Church for the use of their facility for the District Workshop. The League City Evening Lions Club will host this event on November 22, 2014.
