History of the Museum. The Picasso Museum of Malaga responds to Pablo Picasso´s desire to have his artwork exposed in the city where he was born in October 25, 1881. His creation is the result of the shared will of Christine and Bernard Ruiz-Picasso, daughter-in-law and nephew of the artist, whose donations are the core of the museum´s funds, as well as the ones from Junta de Andalucía, which articulated a great project devoted to the artist whose style and technique changed the course of modern art.
