M. Hugé Verónica
When the blue period ends, a new period full of professional and economic achievement starts, thanks to their group of friends, which was divided into Spanish and French ar;sts. One of his best Spanish friends at that moment was Manolo Hugé..
MANOLO HUGUÉ A sculptor who shared great moments and experiences with Picasso, furthermore he influenced Picasso in how to try future rela;ons, which are reflected in historical and biographical accounts especially the ability to persuade cri;cs, dealers and bourgeois. Both characters share many similari;es and possibly it is due to a similar childhood with lack of parental support. In the case of Manolo the total neglect of his father made him runaway from home several ;mes. He escaped to France to escape of military service in Spain. According to other people Manolo was a bad influence on Picasso. But Picasso did not care. Manolo went to Spain to start as a sculptor while Picasso stood in France. The rela;onship with Picasso and the sculptor was warm, even brotherly. Both shared all the same roof and the same food. They remained together un;l the death of Manolo in 1940. Once we know the importance of this ar;st in Picasso´s life we may wonder if everything we know about Picasso was a trick. -Was Picasso´s aOtude in life and in Art real or scam? - Was it an illusion created with a lucra;ve aim? - Is it possible that Picasso created a false aesthe;c to sell bourgeoisie more concerned with having than with understanding? -In any case it would s;ll be art, because the ar;st creates, even if it is a lie. His friend Manolo Hugué inspires Picasso a new concept of art. Picasso might create a whole lie, but to believe our eyes, we discover a truth, Cubism.
