Architecture as Experience Space The Lycabettus hill is a place full of spirituality and it turns out to be a sort of happy island in contrast to the concrete sea of the city around it, a haven to take refuge in. The project wants to emphasize the characteristic of this place.

Empirìa - the lost city is the name of the project, precisely because the basic idea is to create a place that can provide an always Empirìa is what is no longer there, or that is not yet there, it is the nest to return to or to which you dream of returning, it is a welcoming threshold and threshold that arouses fear, which forces you to cross your limits, it is an expected unexpected place, it is outside and inside, it is heterotopic.

The Path as Space

Permanent space

The excavation of the path in the hill is intended to give users the opportunity to experience the hill from within, to know it from a different point of view; this is why the path is a tunnel that leads to an apparently empty underground public space, but in reality, that space is the breath of air after being underwater for a long time, a deep breath at the end of a walk-in which people's fears have the opportunity to let go.

The Game of Opposites The path expands into geometric rooms that surprising as the section has recreated the game of opposites. In these diaphragm rooms, on a programmatic level, temporary exhibitions are hosted. In this way, the rooms are transformed into small rare gems, in which nothing is ever taken for granted. The final, massive, hemispherical section space, in addition to being a deliberate quote from the architect Aurelio Galfetti, represents the serenity that comes after a moment of agitation.
