more challenging, and making my arrival back at Terminal 3 Heathrow feel that bit more exciting knowing I had gotten through it. The nerves and preparation that led up to the trip were so worth it, and the amazing experiences definitely outweighed the problems I had faced. Although it may have been hard at times there is no reason on earth that could persuade me to think twice about recommending such an opportunity to anyone. Holly Glavin, yr 12

The Secret Garden The Phoenix Gardens Stacy Street
Story, picture and interview By Effie Boo yr 3 In the garden there are lots and lots of plants like the cherry tree. They also have two ponds; in both ponds there are frogs that can roam around the garden (so don’t step on them!) you have to be very quiet if you want to see the frogs, because you might frighten them. Phoenix Gardens are hidden behind two main roads (Charing Cross Road and Shaftsbury Avenue), it is on Stacey Street. They plant seeds everywhere and have different plants all through the year even in winter (can you believe that?). They also hold special events. The last one had lots of different animals and the next one is Halloween, 31st October from 2pm-5pm. Make sure you check it out.
Interview with Chris the gardener Q. How long have you been working here? A. Five years Q. What is your favourite plant in the garden? A. The Cherry tree Q. Why do the benches say things on them? A. because when people sit on them they can learn about the garden and the plants.
Q. Do lots of young people come here? A. Yes more and more every year Q. Do you like bugs? A. Oh yes

here’s the results. For my main course I had salmon, catfish, green beans, shallots, potato, FRENCH FRIES and tomato. For my drink I had Diet Coke and dessert was ice-cream for me! Now my opinion of this Boulevard is speechless but I can write it down. I thought they had very big plates and in one bowl guess how many chips.........100! I think that they were very child friendly although they didn’t get a lot of children, and I also think that the temperature was very reasonable. They had very friendly workers and the food was very tasty. My
favourite food was the French fries. I think the Boulevard is the best and you should go there kids!
win a meal for two
at london’s most innovative & authentic casual indian dining restaurant, Masala zone soho Soho exhibits a great variety of culture and a metropolitan and eclectic mix encompassing the media set, shoppers, tourists and barflies in the heart of London’s West End. To celebrate the launch issue of Soho Youth Magazine, Masala Zone Soho is offering the chance for one lucky reader to win a meal-for-two at the restaurant. Masala Zone Soho’s interior proves why it is popular for its scenery, with walls that are authentically made up of natural adobe khaki-coloured mud paintings by tribal artists from Warli from the state of Maharashtra in Western India. The traditional artwork of human beings and animals in scenes of daily life is sprawled across the canvas like walls in a loose rhythmic pattern. Masala Zone also offers food to go, a home delivery service and special outdoor catering services. Delivery service is free on orders over £15, and home delivery prices are less than Food to Go and restaurant prices. A takeaway service is also available throughout the day.

Football Frenzy
I think the YMCA is the best local football club because it is more organized than Regents Park and
Coram Fields. Regents park is good
except they play on grass and it does get very muddy so you should
wear studs or blades. Corams Fields is not that organised so I wouldn’t recommend it.

…..is here!
What is the West End Time Bank?
It will be a way for people to help others in their community and be rewarded for it – in time. For every hour of time you give helping someone, you receive one time credit. The West End Time Bank will also be running fun, free activities in partnership with the local community.
What can you do with your time credits?
You can ‘spend’ your time credits when you need help from someone else. You can give them to another person who needs some help. You can save them.
Who can join the Time Bank?
Anyone. Age, ability, lack of finance or limited mobility are no bars to participating in the time bank.
