Indian Government Sanctions Rs. 800 Crores For Setting Up 7432 Public Fast Charging Stations
The Union Minister of Heavy Industries, Dr Mahendra Nath Pandey, announced the sanction of Rs 800 crores under FAME India Scheme Phase II to the PSU Oil Marketing Companies (OMC) – Indian Oil (IOCL), Bharat Petroleum (BPCL), and Hindustan Petroleum (HPCL) –for setting up 7432 public fast charging stations across the country
The OMC-wise proposed installation of charging stations including upstream infrastructure is as below:

Uttar Pradesh Government To Exempt Road Tax And Registration Fees For Electric Vehicles
Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath announced that the government will eliminate road tax and registration fees for electric vehicles purchased starting October 14, 2022
The exemption will also be applicable for five years to the purchase of electric vehicles made in the state The government has given orders to all RTOs in all districts to comply with the instructions immediately
Uttarakhand To Install Electric Vehicle Charging Stations Along Char Dham Yatra Routes
Uttarakhand’s transport department plans to install electric vehicle charging stations at every 26 km along the Char Dham Yatra routes This will ensure that there is no emission and protect the environment. According to the state’s transportation department, the government will establish a network with 154 electric vehicle charging stations that will cover approximately 4,500 km of roads in the hill state The EV charging network will be implemented in phases It will initially cover 12 routes in Garhwal and 9 in Kumaon. It is estimated that the project will cost approximately Rs 40 crore

Himachal’s Sirmaur To Install 100 EV Charging Stations
To encourage the use of electric vehicles (EVs), 100 charging stations will be installed in the Sirmaur district of Himachal Pradesh. He stated that stations with 50-kilowatt capacities would be installed on state highways near bus stands, where vehicles could be charged in 15 minutes to 1 hour Stations that can charge vehicles in as little as 2-4 hours would be installed at government offices Stations that can charge vehicles for up to 8 hours would be placed in homes For larger charging stations, it is necessary to have 11 kv powerlines.
