FINE ART MAY 2017
Miriam Glynn
Thank you to all of the amazing students who took art classes this year! We have had a great year here in the Fine Arts Department! Students have made great progress in the beginning classes, learning to printmake, draw, paint, photograph, and create beautiful ceramic objects. Intermediate and Advanced students have continued to perfect their skills and build creative portfolios. AP students were yet again successful in meeting their deadline for submitting 24 pieces of artwork in May. As you sign up for classes next year, consider an art class! We would love to see you in the Fall! Bianca Sessegolo

Alex Babicki Danny Wang Lauren Caraballo Ella Titus Fiona Bauman
Then they create a Concentration, or body of work, that demonstrates their ability to follow a course of study that they design themselves. They submit 5 actual pieces of art work that are assessed by AP Art. These pieces are sent. Finally the students submit a statement that describes their idea and their process.

CREATING SPACE ADVANCED AND INTERMEDIATE STUDENTS were given an assignment that stretched their ability and imagination. They used charcoal to create the illusion of three dimensional space on a flat plane. They have learned how to do this by drawing from real objects. In this assignment they had to invent the objects to create the space.
