“My works are a journey on canvas. I sometimes work in a bit of a frenzy, jousting with the surface. Gouging, slashing, and swiping only to look back and see if I have injured the painting, the composition, or helped it along. At this point we sit with each other for a while or go into time out until one of us calms down.”
