Performance

There are apparently some differences. The Redmi Note 5 functions on the Snapdragon 636 chipset, the Redmi Note 5 Pro does on Snapdragon 625. These cause critical differences in the phone performances.

The Snapdragon 636 is designed with better battery functions, enhanced speed, and better graphics performance.

In terms of usage, Note 5 Pro is fast regarding games, loading, and playing, reading emails or even taking photos.

The Redmi Note 5 Pro has two rear cameras, while Note 5 has only one.

The difference is quite clear.

The Redmi Note 5 Pro has a double camera in the rear (12MP, f/2.2, and 5MP, f/2.0) and Redmi Note 5 with one rear camera (12MP. f/2.2). The variation in picture quality is clearly seen.

But the Note 5 can record 4000 videos but the Note 5 Pro can only up to 1080p.

Though Note 5 camera is quite an upgraded form in comparison to the Note 4, the Note 5 Pro is the show stopper. The dual cameras offer better depth-of-field.

The Pro helps give a choice to switch the ‘image stabilization’ on and off, whereas Note 5 owns it as a default function.

Though both have the same capacity, yet there are differences. The Redmi Note 5 would run up to 12 hours 30 minutes when the charge is full and the Redmi Note 5 Pro gets drained in about 12 hours.

Without fast charging, this is despair.

The Redmi Note 5 and Note 5 Pro appear different, but yet the same.

The display and the build of both the phones are more or less similar.

Besides the audio jack placed on opposite sides (on top of Note 5 and on the bottom for Note 5 pro) and the rear cameras have different placement, there is nothing much.

Besides the display is not edgy, everything is fine. Though Redmi 4 is no more part of the market, Xiaomi has three devices with two variants each, and the Mi A1, in a budget of 10k to 20k.

The Redmi Note 5 and Note 5 Pro are among the best options, though Mi A1 yet tops the list. Between the two, the most recommended is the Note 5 Pro. That was all about the Redmi Note 5 Pro in the category of technology review.
