Movie Plot:

'Sanju' takes you inside the most important chapters from Bollywood star Sanjay Dutt's eventful and disputable real life. It gives a factual on his tryst with drugs and his trials in the Arms Acts case and the 1993 Mumbai blasts. The film kicks off with Sanjay Dutt (Ranbir Kapoor) in need of a writer for his biography as he prepares to surrender to the Supreme Court's judgment in the Arms Act case. After a film writer disappoints him badly, Sanju opts for a more established writer Winnie (Anushka Sharma) to pen down his biography. His admissions and memories narrated to Winnie appear to be intimate and give us profound bits of information into the highs and lows of his life.

Co-writer and director Rajkumar Hirani goes for liberties with true events to bolster the film's emotional aspect, however, he doesn't give Sanju a chance to transform into a simple filmy apologia for a volatile Bollywood star's numerous indiscretions. Along with screenwriter Abhijat Joshi, he pens down an intellectual script that focuses on the changes uncovered in Dutt's life due to liquor, drugs girls, weapons and goons. The film has both compassion and as a surprise bluntness. Sanjay's association with his dad Sunil Dutt (Paresh Rawal) stays the significant piece of this story and probably the most heart wrenching and touchy minutes in the film are a thanks to them two.
