A Message from Our President I just love fall. Everything about this time of year energizes me to knit, knit and knit. It is a time to begin new projects from wonderful yarns found at fall fiber fests or our local yarn shops. It is a feeling of satisfaction knowing that something I am knitting in wool, alpaca or a luxurious blend can be worn in the very near future because the weather is getting colder. I like to tailgate in cool weather so I can wear my sweaters, socks, scarves and hats. It is a time to show off our knitting and make others wish they could knit. I realized the reason I don’t have a winter garden is because I am focused on knitting. I find excuses such as “working” at the Chesapeake Waterways Festival as a front to rest, relaxation and knitting. It is a sickness (Fall Fever) and I know I am not the only one afflicted. There is no cure, only relief, which is to buy yarn and knit. I need to close now because I feel a bout of Fall Fever coming on and I need to seek some relief. I have a crazy neon multi-colored yarn I bought at the Montpelier fiber fest calling to me to cast-on for socks. (Hyperventilating at this point). I am back now that I have my breathing under control. At the November meeting, tell us about your special finds, new projects you are working, or your holiday knitting plans. Don’t forget to bring a small paper bag in case you start to hyperventilate. See you.
