A message from our president ! The TKGV 2014 Retreat just blew me away – literally and figuratively. The wind was blowing so hard Friday night while several of us were knitting in the lobby that I expected the doors to blow open and scatter knitters and yarn everywhere. I also was blown away by the great work the committee and other volunteers did to provide a wonderful weekend for everyone. ! ! Cheryl Cauthen-Bond did it again. She found the beautiful African baskets that were the highlight of our weekend giveaways, along with the yarn from an indie dyer. Cheryl also was responsible for gathering up our numerous door prizes, which allowed everyone to get at least two prizes. A big thank-you goes out to Nancy Q. and her husband for the stitch markers that she made for the baskets and the knitting caddies her husband made for door prizes. Roz Klein (BaaBaa Sheep owner) contacted several of her vendors and obtained several door prizes for the weekend. Thanks, Roz.! ! I want to thank Linda Johnson for communicating, collecting, collating, coordinating and scheduling all aspects of the retreat. As a bonus, Linda tracked down Meg’s beautiful project bags for our retreat baskets and in between all these duties, she managed to plan and teach a class on Saturday. I am tired just thinking about it.! ! When it comes to food, you can always expect that it will be plentiful and good when Lora Marin is in charge of it. She did not disappoint. Thanks, Lora, for chopping, mixing, making, baking and hauling such a delicious spread, and thanks to Beverly Boler for her help with the food. If anyone went hungry, it was his or her fault.! ! I want to thank Marilyn Estrada for keeping us stress-free with ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! (continued on page 2)!
