A message from our president ! It’s a girl and I just knew it. I had this gut feeling it was a girl because I kept gravitating toward girly colored yarns every time I went into a knit shop. The VT sweater (which Lora said looked like it was for a girl) is done and given. I couldn’t wait. Now, I am working on a baby blanket with Sassy Skein cotton yarn in pink, green and white (my colors, not theirs) which I started before I knew the gender of the grandbaby. By the way, I love working with the Sassy Skein yarn, which I bought at Baa Baa Sheep the weekend of our scavenger hunt and was told will be available at The Yarn Club as well. Next, I need to think about her Christmas stocking. The rest of the family has decided they are chopped liver at this point.! ! Speaking of knitting small items, baby items as well as socks, hats and mittens will be perfect for our Guild Night at the baseball game July 12 (tote bag giveaway night). Tickets are $11. Jackie Scott will collect money at the July meeting, or you can mail her a check. Family, friends and non-knitters are welcome to come. More information will follow in an email.! ! July is our Yarn Yard Sale/Swap. Anyone can buy yarn; however, you must be a Guild member to sell it at our meeting. This is a great opportunity to find a good home for that yarn that called to you at one time but now has lost some of its charm because it is calling someone else. That’s my story and I am sticking to it so I can make way for the new fall yarns that I hope will be coming soon. The yarn yard sale also is a good time to find yarn for holiday gifts and projects. We also will have a program about brioche knitting to be given by Cheryl Moore. Cheryl told me that brioche knitting is one of her favorite knitting techniques and she is excited about the program.! ! Time to get back to my knitting. I think the baby is going to need a Christmas outfit.! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !!
