Fisheries take on a new look
Traditional industry in renewed development The second Taiwan International Fishery and Seafood Show set to get underway The 2016 Taiwan International Fisheries and Seafood Show (TFSS) is a one-of-a kind fisheries trade show, exhibiting professional expertise from across up, middle- and downstream businesses. Hosted by the Taiwan External Trade Development Council in collaboration with Worldwide Expo Services Ltd. (WES Expo), it takes place at the Kaohsiung Exhibition Center between Nov. 9 and 11. The professional trade show will host approximately 200 companies, spread across 500 booths and categorized into the following sectors: Fishery Equipment and Technology, Aquaculture, Seafood and Value-added Seafood, Processing Equipment, Fishery Services, Marine Biotechnology, Oversea Exhibitors and Local Government & Academia. The show is expected to attract more than 7,000 visitors, both domestic and foreign, creating new and exciting opportunities for the global fisheries market. In light of the deterioration of the world’s natural resources, the exhibition’s theme this year will be “Green Fishery and Resource Sustainability.” Organizers hope to raise awareness of sustainability, as well as explore potential solutions. The TFSS will showcase a series of new breeding systems, aquaculture systems, automated fishery equipment and technology, as well as technological advancements and breakthroughs in many other areas. The exhibition brings together expertise from the worlds of government, academia, research and industry, in an effort to promote the idea of environmentally friendly fisheries and aquaculture via the implementation of the transformative concept of “resource management” as a replacement for “resource utilization.” This year the TFSS proudly welcomes a dynamic range of industry associations and government agencies to participate in the exhibition. Participants include: the Taiwan Fishing Gears Manufacturing Industries Association, the Fish Breeding Association Taiwan, the Taiwan Frozen Seafood Industries Association, the Kaohsiung City Marine Bureau, the Pingtung County Institute of Marine and Fishery Affairs
Management, the Agriculture Bureau of Tainan City Government and more. The exhibition also welcomes Sun Rise E&T, Anyong Biotechnology, Toford Aquaculture, King Chou Marine Technology, Ching Fa Fishing Implements, National Taiwan Ocean University, National Kaohsiung Marine University and more from the fields of research and academia. TFSS Factory Visit Opportunity Event Purpose: TFSS is an international platform for professionals in the fisheries industry. Aside from one-on-one discussions with exhibitors and interviews with international media, factory visits can also be arranged for the final day of the 3-day exhibition, enhancing opportunities for collaboration by giving potential buyers a more thorough understanding of the available equipment and technology.
Event Info: Date: 2016 / 11 / 11 (Friday) Time: 10:00~17:00 Number of Participants: Approximately 20~30 people Content: All factory visits include extensive tours of the factory in question, including introductions to fishing equipment, aquaculture and product processing. The exhibition will take responsibility for all of the associated transportation fees involved in the factory visits as well as provide Chinese and English translation when necessary.
