A Not So Rare A Night The sun has set They’ve reached their peak Their homes no longer Are safe from those yonder… Zealous and relentless, The beasts… Have come out to play with their prey. With a rapidly increasing rage, Tigers, panthers, rattlesnakes, and more… Are arriving from all over the jungle… Like somewhat of a strange and radical bundle. Some animals are screeching out in fear… A race is what it was… Not all rainforest animals were that bright, Running into the “safety” of the water… They are not aware that they will be, Quite the delight...in the middle of a fight of piranhas. All predators satisfied… All prey still terrified… Time for a riveting rejoices, As they sun is rising, Until the next time, For it is never their choices... (Alliteration)

FLYING? As others wait at their gates, We raced straight towards our fates. On the plane… Up in the air… Now this place was like our own private lair. Nobody is aware…
The daily dainty daisy, Could not refrain from saying That they were fluctuating. Ending the day off With a toast over a roast For those with the most. … nothing was ever quite the same. (ASSONANCE)

HAMMER Diminished and forgotten,
With, but one touch
Forever locked away.
Of the now icy cold rust
Cold and alone aging away
It has all come back.
In a box with the others‌
Hardwork,
Fulfilling laughter,
Determination,
From a distance,
Strength.

Time to GoPro Just waiting and waiting for someone to come. Finally someone bought me, It is definitely time to have some fun. Two days have past. And I have traveled, Connected to a mast. Now we are rushing to the plane, Like there is no tomorrow. After fourteen hours on the plane, I have had some quite outrageous adventures, But I am glad to have finally found The one true place that I can call home. (personification)

A Glimpse of Me Do you want a glimpse of Me? The things that are important to me run more than skin deep‌ My interests are vast and help shape the person that I am: (simile) My art is as colorful as the sunset sky--(simile) With abstracts that are both wonderful and plain as they will never be the same. (metaphor) Playing sports gives me the rush of sitting in a speeding sports car. (simile)Traveling opens my eyes to the world’s cultures like being able to see for the first time. (simile) Riding a jetski gives me the feeling of conquering new territory like the feeling of finding a new planet. (simile)My interest in murder mysteries runs as deep as the Mariana Trenches.

(metaphor) My dogs are guardian angels that will forever be by my side. (metaphor) The wolfpack that are my friends are silly, supportive, protective, and are invaluable to me. (simile) The fabric of my family is as colorful and interesting as the many radiant fields of tulips in Holland. (metaphor) The flavors and spices of my Latin heritage make me dance more passionately than birds of paradise. Now this is a glimpse of Me‌ (simile/metaphor)

First Party of the Year None of my friends are invited. But it seems like everyone else is excited. Now of course I am sitting, oh, so alone Too afraid to dance, I am getting to be as cold as a stone. Watched some of my classmate move around. Thinking about how I could be, Safe at home Watching Tv With all of my friends. Its been two hours… I am still motionless… Last song comes on, My favorite song, I decide to get up But then everyone is almost gone I’m confused Does nobody want to have fun? (mood/confused)

Last One Of The Year
Knowing that this year is Coming to an end quite soon I have to be… Confident, Careless, And maybe even sorta reckless. I have to enjoy myself Because… Once I’m in the moment It seems to be surreal Like me and my friends are The only ones there. These are the moments, That no matter how silly My friends and I are acting, We do not care what other people think. My friends and I have… Danced the whole night, Hung out with new people, Made like a billion inside jokes, And even Discovered some amazing new playlists. Now that the party is over… My friends will come to my house, We’ll watch funny movies, Make snacks, Skateboard, And then finish off by Watching Netflix. Knowing that we had used up the day to its fullest potential, We passed out on the couch listening To our new playlists… Now that I’ve covered 7th grade… Lets see what 8th grade has got in store for me. (mood/ certain)

My Work Load Class after class each teacher, Has given us piles of work to do. Getting home late Makes me want to cower, When seeing my work stacked up as tall as a tower. There passes an hour, Maybe my dogs could just devour, Perhaps if I gave them just one more hour. It’s 11:30, Now it is time to get down and dirty. As I lift up my bag I nearly fall back or, Did I just hear a crack. Instead of just a tap, My brother decides to give a whack. “Wake up Soph” “And try your best to not be a slowpoke”. Now with a coke, I am about to choke. As I am almost done, I check all of work.. Now I am going BURZERK!! 18 (hyperbole)
