Attica Department Store Attica is the leading fashion destination in Greece, a one-stop-shop for designer brands in Athens and Thessaloniki. With the flagship store housed in City Link, a historical building in Panepistimiou 9 (Ath-ens, Greece 105 64)near Syntagma Square in the center of Athens, and two more stores in Maroussi (northern suburbs of Athens) and in Thessaloniki (within Mediterra-nean Cosmos Shopping Center), attica offers complete sections of women’s, men’s and children’s fashion wear, footwear, beauty and accessories along with a wide range of excellent, personalized services. Noise Pollution
Main Idea During the research around the Department Store of Attica, we focused on the problems of the area on how the city affects the viewing of the department’s window displays. We realised that the noise pollution on the area, because of the constant traffic and the lack of vegetation to reduse the noise, made the visitor want to move quickly on the outside of the building, not giving enough attention on the Window Displays. With that in mind we’ve made the decision to create a barrier inspired by sound waves. We wanted to visualise the problem and transform it into something that creates a statement surrounding the noise pollution in the city of Athens.

Colour Choices The colours that chose for the Window Displays will be a gradient going from Blue (left) to Red (right). The blue colour will be featured in the beginning of the narrative where the sound wave is completely calm. As we saw earlier in the psychology of each colour (page 86), the color blue is assosiated with calmness, stability and productivity. As we pass every window display, the colour becomes slowly redder and at the end of the narrative is completely red. The co-lour red in the psycology of the each co-lour (page 83) is assosiated with tention and anger. Those are the reasons we’ve picked these two colour for our narrative. They are symbolic and they fit perectly in our idea.

The Window Displays As we metioned earlier, the window displays at first will be featuring a sound wave that starts calm and slow and gradualy be-coming bigger and stronger, impacting the everyday life in the city. The window displays will have colored lights going from blue to red, to symbolise the danger of the displayed sound wave. At fisrt the wave is rather calm so there is no need of equipped clothes. The first four window diplays will be featuring a fashion, a formal, an everyday formal and a casual wear. Showing that in low noise pollution levels the people are living a rather calm life.
By the time the sound wave reaches the fiveth window display, the wave starts to become unbareable and makes the people start use more equipped clothes. The color of the window display starts to become red, warning the people of the danger level of the sound wave. The people will start to wear athleisure clothes, then sport clothes, then hiking clothes and finaly trekking and climbing clothes.
