My initial drawings are working well so far but are a little clichĂŠ/ obvious In the brief it mentions taking the darker themes of the book and using them to create atmosphere which is why I chose the deep purples and blues.

I’ve had to practice my drawing of cats because it’s not a strong point.

I think the expressive versions are stronger considering the brief than the filled black drawings as they represent the idea of the cat not having a home etc.

I experimented a lot with composition as I’m not familiar with children book illustration. Rather than drawing the whole figure of the woman, I just drew a suggestion of her so there would be more space for more important details.

My feedback was mostly about the research I’d done, as I’m not very far along with my ideas for Responsive.
