Issuu mono

In my previous crit, it was suggested that I experiment with mono printing onto different stock.

Newspaper was interesting however very busy.

I also experimented with text and quotes, a problem I came across was that it had to be mirrored in order for it to come out readable. I also messed around with pressure on the plate to create solid areas of black.

I have began to use quotes from Huxley’s works and life to tie all of my images together and create a sort of narrative.

I also wrote straight onto the mono print plate with a sharp tool and printed on top of that, which gave me this effect. I am considering using it in my publication for some of the pages.

This was an off print because the writing came out backwards, however I am thinking about using the backwards writing in my publication to represent the cynical side of Huxley, which brings the cynic/mystic opposites idea to life a little more.
