If there happens to be a problem with our venue for example if there is a fire or a flood of some sort, we will have to relocate the event to a different venue, however this will also have to be near and in the city, an Ideal venue would be the titanic hotel because it has a massive hall to host events anyway, it has also done fashion shows there before. On the day of the event if the hairdressers and beauticians are late or cannot come, we will have to have backup hairdressers and beauticians or the models will have to do their own makeup and hair. On google maps there is about 8 different hairdressers and a few beauticians located on west derby road in case our sponsors peaches and cream and Voodou don’t turn up

because all of the contestants have been choreographed so everyone knows what they are doing there, so this means there can be no last minute people entering to compete. If something goes wrong with your event for example the speakers won’t work always have an extra pair just in case, so your event will run smoothly and there is no delays this means that your audience will be happy and the show will go on. If something goes wrong with your technology for example the lighting doesn’t work, make sure a technician this there or two so if something does go wrong they will know how to fix it and the show will go on.

If some of the contestants are late for the show we will also have to change the schedule or they won’t be able to take part in the competition because the event must go on and most importantly there is a time schedule we will have to keep in place because we don’t want to disappoint our audience.

If some staff are late for example the main speaker who knows what to say during the event, we will have another spokesperson so that the event doesn’t get delayed and looks organised.

If any props go missing or get broken we will make sure we have spares or have a staff member to run out to the nearest store to find the items, this means that the show does not get delayed or If one of the contestants falls ill the contestants have to do it on the day of the competition without their props and this The Female contestants buy and is too sick to compete they could affect their score. their own dresses so this means will not be able to take part and

enter the competition when they are older. This is what the whole event is about is creating a good role models for Liverpool.

The pageant is meant to be a very fun and entertaining evening so this will attract people to go, also the tickets are at a decent price, and this means people will want to go to have a fun Press will want to go to the night out especially if it is a local event because it is a big competi- event and they do not have to tion in Liverpool and they will travel far. have an interesting story to There are competitions during write in their newspaper, this our event so this will attract also means that more people will people because they will want to end up reading about it and this win prizes for example tickets to will help promote the event for go to Aintree racecourse. next year. also have a pop up shop so they can also buy their products. To attract people to our event we have been using social media sites such as Instagram, twitter and Facebook, also we will be handing out leaflets to people around the city to come to the event. Hopefully because of last year’s Miss/Mr Liverpool the same audience will want to go again because they had such a good time last time they went. The Miss/Mr Liverpool event has been going along time so they will have loyal customers that will go every year, these maybe ex contestants of the competition that competed when it first started and they like to go watch every year.

It is important that the event has a fair target market, and the correct type of people are involved. With the range of the contestants being, aged 17-24yrs for females and 17-27yrs for males, our aim is to promote to a target market of all ages and backgrounds. It is obvious that contestants may have their family to support them, and with all families being different we think it’s important that we do not put a stop to When it comes to the more popuparticular people being able to lar guests, our aim is to gain attend the event. some people high in the beauty Looking into the area in which and fashion industry who may the event is held it shows that gain some interest in this event most households consist of, re- and gain some attention for their tired couples and single parents. brand so that they can promote The people living in the area are themselves as well. known to be qualified to a very low level, and their unemploy- It can be seen as popular for ment level stands are at a higher many local hair stylists and level than the national average. Because some of the contestants are offered modelling contracts after the events there will probably be modelling agencies there looking for new models for their companies.

Competition So there are two main competitor to Miss/Mr Liverpool, there are; Miss teen galaxy, Miss/Mr Liverpool galaxy and LMI. The galaxy competitors are all the same organisers and websites but LMI are a studio that also do fashion events. The galaxy event overall looks so professional compared to Miss/Mr Liverpool but LMI looks the best out of all of them. This is a major problem for Miss/Mr Liverpool as we have no website only a page on the miss England site (which is also dated and could be modernised). Miss/Mr England and Miss/Mr world are such huge events you would think

that Miss/Mr Liverpool would be better promoted. If you search Miss/Mr Manchester they have their own site so i believe we need to set one up for miss/ Mr Liverpool. This will then give us a chance to be better than the rest of the competition.

affect the attendance of our event, as the audience we are trying to attract are younger than what the audiences are for the other events.so i feel this is not a massive problem for us, as the age for their target audience is much higher.

One of the main reasons we do have the edge over the competition is where the winner go after they have won Miss/Mr Liverpool they will then go straight into competing for Miss/Mr England so this will then promote Miss/Mr Liverpool event more.

The last plus side for us is our social media presence, we have set up a twitter, new facebook and instagram to try and raise the hype of the event and bring it into the 21st centaury. So far the twitter is pushing the event really well.

The other events that are on that day in Liverpool might

Promotion of the event is an important part of the marketing plan. This year our aim is to get more males auditioning so the promotion and advertising plays a big part in this. We will be using social media such as twitter, facebook and istagram to increase to following of the event, make people more aware of it and show people more of an insite/behind the scences view of the event. We will be visiting places were we

know they’re large groups of males to enter to advertise, places like jaguar, university hall and the lex building of our college ( Liverpool college). As there is a shortage in males auditons we had to look at why this might be happening, we

decided that boys are quite shy and maybe afraid of what their friends think or possibly they see the event as more of a girl thing to do. We thought maybe if we approach groups of males instead of lads on their own they might be more likely to sign up. Maybe they would do it for more of a laugh and for a bit of fun with their being a group of them. We have also made the Mr Liverpool more equal to Miss Liverpool this year by including in the social networking @ names. And also Coming away from the girly pink and red colour scheme which is usually used on flyers and the website. We believe this could make the event more approachable for males.

The social media pages also make it possible for us the connect with local radio stations, djs, celebs, and local known people which large followings example Calvin Fox. We can now ask for their help with getting the event more known around the city by them giving

us shoutouts and telling their followers about the event. This also makes the event come across as more official if high status people are speaking about it and promoting it. As it is a Liverpool event, local people are more willing to help promote as they support events within their own city rather than events else where. We also believe flyers would be a good idea as they can be left in pacific places were we know our target audience is located. This could be from salons, shops, beauticians, shopping centres, colleges, sixth form and univerties. The only negative is the producing flyers costs money which we will have to consider the budget.

A QR code could also be made, this is a small bar code which you can scan on a smart phone and it will auto maniacally

take you to the page. This signers if they have anything could be places on flyers and in to sell. the look book/ program. This QR code takes you to the Miss/ There would also be a changes Mr Liverpool twitter page. to find out more about the We also had the idea of open- event as people don’t really ing a miss Liverpool pop up know much more about it than shop in the city centre were what was on the leaflet. people can go and speak to previous winners/ contestants, view the dresses that have been made by colleges students for the eco round and possible buy items of clothing from the de-

Our mission and aim is to find the perfect male and female ambassadors and role models for Liverpool 2015, additionally our aim is to get more males to auditions and enter before. This year the social media is going to help boost awareness of the event and hopefully and increase numbers.
