About BeSOPRO SOPRO started the BeSOPRO project in Octuber 2017, a project funded by the Program ERASMUS + Portugal - Youth in Action within the European Voluntary Service (EVS). It aims at organizing sports, artistic, cultural and volunteer activities for the students of La Salle School and the local community of Barcelos, where the association is based.
Mission and Vision The European voluntary service is part of the Erasmus + program which aims to change people's lives and enhance the projects of young people, creating experiences and opportunities, promoting mobility, driving the results of learning, connecting people through cultural ties supported by a common set of values, based on a union of policies in order to promote social development and economic growth in Europe.

Tasks Here are our main tasks: Organization of intercultural activities, workshops (Italian and Latvian), exhibitions, lectures, creative spaces, painting, cultural, environmental and sports activities. Reflection activities on the themes of the European Union, work on the importance of interacting on an equal basis, on valuing differences and stimulating intercultural dialogue; Collaboration in the organization of sports activities - Hiking-Bike-Trail Support in the restoration of the new headquarters of SOPRO; Work with other volunteers of the association - Social makeover; Support the School Material Bank, support office tasks and daily tasks; Participate in SOPRO’s campaigns: Collection of school material and food in the supermarkets Support fundraising initiatives (helping to seek and compete for international applications), and support for exchange activities, Attending and implementing formation for volunteers involved in Mozambique project.

Italian Club Our two Italian volunteers, Laura and Gabriella, have taught their native language in LaSalle School, sharing their culture, passioned for their country and inspiring young people to travel abroad!

Dance workshops Anete, our Latvian volunteer, creating coreographies for different kind of activities, involving more than 100 students. She also conducted workshops for european volunteers, focusing on contemporary dance tecnique, including contact improvisation and improvisation.

Formation activity Our Italian volunteer Laura has been involved in the predeparture formation for volunteers going to Mozambique!
