Naturally Supernatural Programme 2013

Page 1

We’re thrilled to have you with us and we’re expectant of what God will do as we offer this time to him. We long to see more of God’s presence and power in our everyday lives and so we want to spend our time together exploring how we can do that. In each session we will make space for worship, teaching and ministry and we’ll be ‘practicing’ on each other as we learn to pray in the power of the Holy Spirit. Let’s step out in boldness over the next few days – this is a safe place where we can learn and grow together so that we might gain confidence in moving in the power of the Holy Spirit in our everyday lives. Our hope and prayer is that we would all leave here more ready and able to be used by God to bring his Kingdom wherever we go.

Mike gave birth to all things Soul Survivor (you’ll have to ask him if that’s as painful as it sounds). He heads up both the Soul Survivor ministries (which runs this event, the summer conferences and lots more) plus Soul Survivor Watford church (whose home we’re holding this conference in). Mike speaks at events around the world but when he’s home he likes nothing more than cooking up a big old feast for friends and tending to his grape vines. Andy works with Mike in directing all that goes on at Soul Survivor. He graduated from Cambridge with a First Class Degree in Theology and now heads up our Soul61 leadership course which has 52 young people on it this year. Andy is married to Beth and he likes nothing more than beating Mike at squash.

Carl has been leading worship for over 30 years, playing a key role in the development of Vineyard Music and the Vineyard church movement. He came to know Jesus through John Wimber and the two served together for many years, focusing on intimate worship and seeing an outpouring of the Holy Spirit. Carl is now a member of Southlands Church in California.

During Naturally Supernatural we will be tweeting using the hashtag #13NSN. Use the same or mention @soulsurvivorGB to let us know how you’re enjoying the event.

Need a cuppa or a snack? Head to our super special Soul Survivor Café where you will find hot and cold drinks and a number of goodies to satisfy. The café will be open before the first meeting each morning and during all the breaks. If you need more substantial food choices, there are many good places to eat in Watford and the surrounding area. Asda and Sainsbury supermarkets are within a 20 minute walk, the town centre is about 25 minutes away on foot and there are a couple of cafes and small supermarkets on the way. For directions and a full list of eating options, please pick up a sheet at the Registration desk.

In Warehouse 5 you’ll find a couple of stands where you can find out more about Soul Action (a partnership between Soul Survivor and Tearfund), SoulNet (the bit of Soul Survivor that is all about youth leaders), and you can chat to us about how you can be on team and help make our summer events happen. Plus you can pick up some brilliant CDs, books and other resources at the bookshop!

We’d love to know what you thought of Naturally Supernatural and so we’ll email you a quick questionnaire to complete online. (Please note if you didn’t pre-book your place we won’t have your email address so please let one of the team on the Registration desk know.) We promise to read every single comment and your feedback will really help us shape future events.
