WELCOME! It’s great to be with you here at our SoulNet retreat. It seems like just yesterday we were braving the snow and ice to get out of here last year. I’m definitely hoping for better weather this weekend. It’s brilliant to be able to host this weekend with our SoulNet director Ali Etheridge. As part of his role he’s been travelling up and down the country in the past few months getting to know some of you and finding out about your youth work. It’s great to hear the stories of how so many of you, despite the tough times and challenges of day to day youth work, are seeing young people come to know Jesus in your local communities and churches. The idea of this weekend is that it’s all about you and God. Our aim is to give you plenty of time to relax and spend time with God, talking to him, singing his praise, hearing from his word and waiting on his Spirit. We hope you leave feeling refreshed and encouraged and ready for the onward journey. Enjoy!

THE SESSIONS WHAT’S THE CRAIC? Your hosts: Mike Pilavachi and Ali Etheridge Mike P will be your host for the weekend and he will be joined by SoulNet director Ali Etheridge. We’re chuffed to be joined by Matt Summerfield from Urban Saints on Saturday. Along with Ali and Mike, Matt will be helping us explore how going deeper in relationship with God will help us develop a better understanding of our young people. As a gift to all of you lovely lot, Matt will be giving you a free copy of ‘Don’t Make History, Change the Future’ - his new book that looks at how we can best run the race set before us and pass the baton of faith onto the next generation.

Worship & Ministry Sam Bailey will be leading us in worship throughout this weekend. We will be having times of worship in all of our sessions whilst also leaving plenty of time to wait on the Holy Spirit in times of ministry.

DEPARTURE Our lovely friends at Center Parcs have allowed us to stay until Monday. Whoop! So, if you don’t have to be back at work until Tuesday or if you can’t leave without one more trip down the rapids, you are more than welcome to stay and use the facilities on Monday morning but the villas need to be vacated by 10am. Center Parcs had limited wifi in the main venue. Please see the Center Parcs desk for more info.

MEET THE TEAM MIKE PILAVACHI is one of your hosts for the weekend. As an avid chef, Mike has two main influences: Jamie Oliver’s cooking style and Delia Smith’s fashion sense.
ALI ETHERIDGE is hosting alongside Mike. He is named after youth culture icon Ali G*; you can’t get much more youth relevant than that. *not actually true but we wish it was.
SAM BAILEY will be leading worship this weekend. He counts Cliff Richard as his biggest musical hero and has been known to break out the leather trousers on previous occasions.
MATT SUMMERFIELD will be joining us on Saturday. Matt is the Chief Executive of Urban Saints and the Senior Pastor of Hitchin Christian Centre.

SOULNET THROUGH THE YEAR! SoulNet is the part of Soul Survivor that is all about resourcing and equipping you lovely lot, but we don’t just resource and equip at this weekend!
SOULNET EQUIPPING DAYS In March and June, Ali Etheridge will be hosting equipping days in both Manchester and Watford geared towards helping you deal with different issues that arise when working with young people. The dates are as follows:
BEYOND BAD MOODS AND APATHY How to support young people coping with depression and other mental health issues. 11th March – Manchester 14th March – Watford
MY WHOLE YOUTH GROUP KISSED A GIRL AND THEY LIKED IT Tackling the issues of sex and sexual identity. 3rd June – Manchester 6th June - Watford Equipping days are £8 if you book online in advance, or £10 on the door. More details and booking on our website.
PRAYER BREAKFASTS We’re holding a number of prayer breakfasts around the country which give an opportunity to gather local youth leaders together to eat, worship, pray and chat. If you’d like to host one in your church please chat to Ali or email soulnet@soulsurvivor.com. Breakfasts already in the diary include HTB in London on the 8th February and St Paul’s in Salisbury on 8th March. SOULNET IN THE SUMMER! As part of our summer conferences we have some special seminars just for youth workers. They take place at 9am on days 2-4 of each Soul Survivor week and include a pastry and a coffee. You can also sign up for prayer and prophecy sessions where our team will try and listen to God on your behalf and see what he might want to say to you.

DATES FOR THE DIARY 2013 NATURALLY SUPERNATURAL In two weeks time from 13th – 16th February, we will be holding our Naturally Supernatural conference at our warehouse in Watford. We will be spending four days looking at the Bible’s teaching on the work of the Holy Spirit and how to live our lives in his power. This is ideal if you and your church are looking to move more in the power of the Holy Spirit. Cost: £55 Full Conference, £17 Day ticket

YOUNG WORSHIP LEADERS DAY Do you have young people who are passionate about worship? Get them along to our worship training day geared towards encouraging and practically equipping young people to lead worship at their church, cell group or youth group. Cost: £5 (limited spaces – book online)

EQUAL On Saturday 15th June, Mike P and Ali Martin will be joined by Jane Williams for our third Equal conference.
