ABOUT THE PROJECT This project includes designing a logo for ourselves so that it suits our characteristics well. We were asked to follow a series of steps before reaching the final result. First of all there is a description about the characteristics I feel is related to me. Then there are colour references from the pictures I like, my favourite cup, my favourite toy etc. Then according to this information, I have sketched out ten thumbnails for my logo. Out of these one is selected and turned into digital form and then I have made its variations by playing with different colour schemes. After the selection of a final logo, I have made examples in which it can be used .
ABOUT ME
NAME: SOUMYA SHARMA AGE: 20 B.DES Student at NIFT Gandhinagar and a part time day-dreamer.
When thinking about what are the characteristics that define me I wasn’t able to decide the points thus my first character came up that I am confused if not something else. So I asked my friends to tell me what characters do they see in me and these were the most common points: o Playful o Jolly o Emotional o Shy o Confused o Overthinker o Think more act less o Caring o Sensitive o Helpful o Foodie o Loud o Obsessive cleaner o Funny

THUMBNAILS Each thumbnail is designed to show my characteristics listed before:
I have drawn a balloon here to show my outgoing nature and paired it with a quote “free spirit� as I think it defines me.
I believe that one should be a child at heart for as long one can be and so I have drawn this girl with a bunch of balloons.
I easily get attached to people so I drawn a magnet attracting a heart.
A smile works better than words.
I love dogs and though I’m outgoing but that’s only in front of my close people, otherwise I come out to be a shy girl
I’m joyous but very loud when excited.
I have a lazy side to me and a panda describes it perfectly.
I prefer to be in a group than alone so “I’m better in a bunch”.

As mentioned earlier, I have taken a balloon because it defines me appropriately. Like a balloon is free when flying in the air and it makes people happy, I think this is what I want to do, to make people around me happy. Also the colours I have used are yellow, blue and pink because yellow shows happy, fun, blue shows trust and pink shows the bubbly nature. I have not used a restricted font but rather a free flowing handwritten type so as it matches with the quote and the graphic.

MY LEARNING First of all I would like to thank our teacher Ms. Anandpyari for such an exciting project. From listing my characteristics to getting my final logo, it was really a fun process. I really enjoyed it. What I learned from this assignment is how to characteristics with forms and colours and how to make a informed decision about everything rather than just selecting things because they look pretty. It also helped me to know things about myself and now I know what kind of designs I like or I’ll prefer. Also decision making quality development as we made so many variations and to select one out of them that too with proper reasonings surely develops our decision making qualities. How to make the practical use of the logo made was also taught as we showed how we will design a letterhead, card and even how will our logo look on a product, thus linking this project practically to the market. Overall this was a very interesting assignment and I will look forward to more such projects in future.
