School’s Out for Summer..... and Primary Times is going to be your best friend this school holiday! Welcome to the biggest help you are going to use this summer. There’s no need to get stressed, no need for the constant “what are we doing today”, simply keep your copy of Primary Times handy and look through our comprehensive listings to see what’s on. Primary Times has the best set of listings for primary aged children anywhere. Nobody does it better! We have worked night and day to source them and have spent hours checking, double checking and proof reading them. Having said that we do produce some of them a long time in advance so do remember to check with the venue for any updates before planning a trip. We don’t usually mention cost and full details as we just don’t have room so do check first if you need more information. As well as being loved for our listings, our competitions are pretty popular too! In this magazine look out for a chance to win an Xbox One and copy of LEGO The Incredibles game. We have a fantastic word search competition with a top prize of the Xbox One, game and goody bag plus two runners up prizes of LEGO The Incredibles goody bags. Don’t forget to enter all our other competitions too and remember to include your details if you do enter. We can’t notify you if you don’t let us know who you are.... Farewell and good luck to all our Year 6 readers off to secondary school. There isn’t a secondary school version of Primary Times but if you still want to see us take a look in your local library.

Film Preview Guide Hotel Transylvania 3: A Monster Vacation
The nation’s favourite monster family are back and this adventure promises to be bigger and better than ever. Drac and the family are taking a summer vacation from providing everyone else’s vacation at the hotel, and embark on a holiday on a luxury monster cruise ship. It’s smooth sailing for Drac’s Pack as the monsters indulge in all of the shipboard fun the cruise has to offer, from monster volleyball to exotic excursions, and catching up on their moon tans. However, the dream vacation turns into a nightmare when Mavis realises Drac has fallen for the mysterious captain of the ship, Ericka. Little do they know that his “too good to be true” love interest is actually a descendant of Abraham Van Helsing, ancient nemesis to Dracula and all other monsters, and she hides a dangerous secret that could destroy all of monsterkind. Catch the latest instalment in the Hotel Transylvania adventure from 27 July.
Incredibles 2
The Parr family are back, with their incredible story picking up where the previous film finished in 2004. Helen, aka Elastigirl, continues to fight crime using her stretching powers, whilst also leading a campaign to bring Supers back. Meanwhile, Bob navigates the dayto-day heroics of ‘normal’ life at home with Violet, Dash and baby Jack-Jack, whose superpowers are about to be discovered.Their mission is derailed, however, when a new villain emerges with a brilliant and dangerous plot that threatens everything. But the Parrs don’t shy away from a challenge, especially with Frozone by their side. They must find a way to work together again – which is easier said than done, even when they’re all Incredible. Incredibles 2 bursts into cinemas on 13 July.
Teen Titans Go! To the Movies
TheTeenTitans are back with the voice of Greg Davies inTeenTitans Go! to the Movies. It seems to theTeens that all the major superheroes are starring in their own movies - everyone but theTeenTitans, that is. Leader Robin is determined to remedy the situation and be seen as a star instead of a sidekick. With a few madcap ideas and a song in their heart, theTeenTitans head toTinselTown, determined to pull off their dream. The group is radically misdirected by a seriously Super-Villain and his maniacal plan to take over the Earth, and things really go awry. The team finds their friendship and their fighting spirit failing, putting the very fate of theTeenTitans themselves on the line.Teen Titans Go! to the Movies is a clever, tongue-in-cheek play on the superhero genre, and comes to cinemas on 3 August. 4

Paula the Polar Bear
This summer, Paula the Polar Bear is coming to Margate as part of the Turner Contemporary’s summer exhibition Animals & Us. Taking the show out of the gallery, Paula, a life-sized puppet, will wander through the town, sparking thought provoking conversations about climate change and how humans can co-exist with animals. Because of ongoing and potential loss of their sea ice habitat resulting from climate change, polar bears have been listed as a threatened species. With Margate’s beach as the backdrop, Turner Contemporary navigators will accompany Paula, breaking the ice with conversation starters about climate change. It will be the first and possibly last- time that a Polar Bear has been seen in Margate! Paula the Polar Bear will appear at Turner Contemporary at 11am, 11.30am, 12noon, 12.30pm, 2pm, 2.30pm, 3pm, 3.30pm and 4pm, on selected dates between 26 July and 26 August. See the world through the eyes of a hedgehog in this heart-warming adventure novel by Sittingbourne author, David Hills. Hedgehog Queen is the first charming book in a planned series of hedgehog adventures with beautiful hand-drawn illustrations for children aged between 5–7 years old. Hamish the hedgehog wakes from hibernation and sets out on a mission to find ‘the chosen one’ and to play, of course. Hamish is soon discovered by a little boy called Alistair in his back garden. Alistair is fascinated by this little creature of nature – as the hedgehog has sparkly spikes and leaves a small trail of silver dust behind him wherever he goes. The blossoming friendship between Alistair and Hamish leads to an exciting adventure to a secret hedgehog party. There, Alistair enjoys eating his favourite food and is greeted by none other than the hedgehog Queen. The hedgehog Queen presents Alistair with a special gold medal for his loyalty and friendship before the party is over. David Hills, a local author, has been fortunate enough to have hedgehogs visit his own garden which inspired him to write the story. Get your copy online and from all good book stores for £6.99.

All your own work! Poppie Krefta aged 6
A Poem About Sports Day by Poppie Krefta aged 6 Sometimes I call “Sports Day” – “Shorts Day”! My little brother calls it “Airports Day”. Will there be sunshine or will there be thunder? I do not know, but I certainly wonder. I wonder about the big shorts wearing sports bear, I imagine him running all around my short hair. My little brother never believes me. He’s more excited about doing a wee wee! When I finish in the race first, I feel like I am going to burst! When people run the race and lose, I think it’s because they needed the loos! Hooray! I’m so happy – because I’m first. You know what that means? I’m going to burst! First, I must find a way to stop this thirst, Then I will burst because I AM FIRST!
