Holiday movies on the big screen JUDE KAIDER Hi-Liter
The man for the season
Looking as cheery as ever despite a very busy season ahead of him, Santa Claus waves to area residents during Antioch’s Christmas parade up Main Street on Friday. With his reindeer relaxing at the North Pole, Santa received a courtesy ride into town from Renegade Clydesdales of Richmond. Braving the chilly weather, those on hand got to watch marchers, view floats, and watch the 40th-annual village tree lighting ceremony take place in front of the Village Hall after the parade. The Antioch Parks and Recreation Department sponsors the event.
The Village of Antioch and Antioch Theater are hosting Holiday Movies on the Big Screen this month. On Saturday mornings throughout December people will have the opportunity to see one of today’s classic holiday movies. Each week movies start at 10 a.m. Tickets will be $3
per person and are limited. Tickets can be purchased at the box office, or online at www.AntiochTheatre.com. Online purchases are subject to a $1.25 convenience fee. Contact the Antioch Parks and Recreation office at (847) 395-2160 or email parks@antioch.il.gov for additional information.

Aluminum tree display set at museum Kitschy trees evoke delight or horror
JUDE KAIDER Hi-Liter
The man for the season
Looking as cheery as ever despite a very busy season ahead of him, Santa Claus waves to area residents during Antioch’s Christmas parade up Main Street on Friday. With his reindeer relaxing at the North Pole, Santa received a courtesy ride into town from Renegade Clydesdales of Richmond. Braving the chilly weather, those on hand got to watch marchers, view floats, and watch the 40th-annual village tree lighting ceremony take place in front of the Village Hall after the parade. The Antioch Parks and Recreation Department sponsors the event.
The McHenry County Historical Society is hosting a Holiday Open House on Saturday at the museum, from 1 to 3 p.m. at 6422 Main St. in Union. Those attending will have an opportunity to play Christmas 45s on a working Wurlitzer jukebox ($1 donation per song), listen to live music by pianist Nicholas Renkosik of Wonder Lake starting at 11 a.m., browse the bake sale, make old-fashioned Christmas ornaments with Bill Scarlett and search for unique gifts in the museum store. Admission is free. Beginning Tuesday, there will be an aluminum Christmas tree forest on display, courtesy of Dave Harms. Germany may have exported ornaments here, but the aluminum Christmas trees they hung them from were homegrown. Trees were two to eight feet tall, in colors that ranged from pink to teal. Some were flocked. Others boasted lights on the branches or in the base. Manufacturers included Metal Trees Corp., Holi-Gay Manufacturing and Flocking Specialties Inc. in Chicago and Aluminum Specialty Co. and Mirro Aluminum Co. in Manitowoc, Wis. It is estimated Aluminum Specialty, alone, sold some four million signature Evergleam brand trees between 1959 and 1969. “I see it as a moment in time when we had space exploration coming on and all of these new things being made out of aluminum,” Harms said. Harms and his antiquing partner, Lynne Eltrevoog, are bringing about 70 aluminum trees, manufactured between 1958 and 1969, to the museum as part of this year’s Holiday Open House. Harms has staged holiday displays at the museum for the past nine years. He began collecting Christmas memorabilia in 1980, when he first set out to find a lighted tree stand like the one his grandparents used when he was a child. Fearing the stand would leak and short out the lights, Harms said, they never turned it on.

so far this year by The Time is Now to Help. We have a large stack of requests we are working through daily. There is much work that goes into each situation of assistance. Please remember The Time Is Now to Help utilizes every penny of your donation to provide assistance to the povertystricken. We are a small organization that strives to achieve huge change. This change might come in the form of ending hunger, preventing or alleviating homelessness, restoring utilities, removing the pains of poverty for the elderly and the handicapped and, for those who are able, providing transportation assistance to retain employment and medical care. Thanks to all of you, we can continue to pursue our goal of ending poverty in our communities not just today but every day. This week we will be delivering food and meals to families, senior citizens, the handicapped and veterans who would have gone without. We are very grateful that all of you provide the means to make these deliveries. We are even more grateful for the assistance you provide for those living in desperate poverty every day of the year, not just on a holiday. Hunger is felt every day, not just on holidays. Homelessness is traumatic every day, not just on holidays. Basic needs are needed every day, not just on holidays. We are
most grateful for all of you who support our mission to remove the pains of poverty not just during the holidays but every day of the year. You are our blessing, our Thanksgiving. God bless you for your support of our mission and all our good works we accomplish together. in years past from accidents and illness so she had no one else in her life other than her pet. We made sure her pet was seen by a vet and given necessary medical attention. We helped her pay her overdue electric bill and installed new, safe appliances. Her old appliances were not even working so she did not have a stove or a refrigerator. We filled her propane tank. We removed the terrible dental pain she was living with by having a volunteer take her to a dentist. The volunteer waited through several appointments and made sure she was comfortable when she returned home. We and volunteers continue to communicate with this senior woman as we do not want her to fall into her lonely reclusive life again. This senior is one of our blessings this year as we watched her life turn from the pain, loneliness and fear of poverty to one of renewed smiles and happiness. Thanks to all of you and The Time Is Now to Help working together the blessing of turning lives from the pains of poverty into smiles of happiness happened often this year. Another client who stands out in our hearts is a young boy who continues to fight his battle with cancer. We pray for him daily and ask you to keep him in your prayers. His mother and sibling are so thankful for our assistance in keeping them in their apartment and providing car repairs so they can continue to be with this young boy while he lives in the hospital for several more months. We continue to communicate with this mother as she comforts her young son. We have made it possible for her to be there for him as he faces each painful treatment. You have made it possible for us to be there to provide the helping hand they need. We are counting you as one of our biggest blessings this year because you made this boy’s fight for his life a little less painful and stressful for his family that is supporting him every step of the way.

We always seem to encounter people who rise above their handicaps or disabilities. Their strength and courage amaze us every day. They are a blessing to all of us and have taught us so much about living with disabilities and life’s challenges. When I feel upset over something that is out of my hands or the lack of time to complete all I would like to accomplish in a day, all I have to do is think of my friends who face challenges far beyond my petty daily list. I have learned from watching our many fellow creations who live with challenges far beyond anything I encounter. One of the people who stands out this year is a young woman who struggles as a result of surgery she had to remove a brain tumor. The surgery and the brain tumor both changed her life from a normal college-age woman to one who needs around-the-clock medical care. We originally met this remarkable young woman several years ago at a high school event before she discovered she had a brain tumor. This year we helped her move close to her family and friends. We helped with rent, we provided a hospital bed, some accessible furniture, a refrigerator with an icemaker (this was medically required for her condition), toiletries and food. This young woman continues to live with her challenges with a smile on her face thanks to all of you. We count this young woman as one of our blessings this year as we feel blessed to have been able to be there to ease her poverty and make life easier for her challenging disabilities. We received many referrals this year from other organization, schools, churches and social services. We are thankful for their watchful eyes and concerned hearts. A single mother who was in the hospital for several months was thankful to have our assistance when we provided the help needed to get her children back in her care and provide them safe shelter. Together we provided them with the stable shelter needed to return the children and help the mother to continue to heal. These are just a few of the hundreds of people helped

Thanksgiving and the upcoming holiday season always make me reflect on what I am most grateful for in my life. No matter what stage of life you are in, there are always ups and downs. Some years are better than others, some days are better than others. The same is true for all of you and those we bring our assistance to. This past year has again been a busy one with an increase in requests and trying to keep up with the needs of the povertystricken in our communities. As we look over the past year of assistance there is much to be thankful for. We began the year with the blessing of several matching grant opportunities. These matching grants made an enormous difference in our winter fundraising as this typically is our slow time of the year for donations. After the holidays, donations might slow but the requests for those suffering in poverty are even greater. The cold winter months bring an increased need for emergency shelter, utilities and transportation assistance. A huge thank you to this year’s matching grant donors – Fox Charities, The Barnabas donors, Paul Ziegler, Richard H. Driehaus and The Summertime Foundation. Their matching grant funds, matched by all of your generous donations, have been instrumental in the assistance we have provided this past year. Several of our clients served this past year stand out in our memories and in our hearts. We began the year by receiving a request for assistance for a widowed senior woman living in a dilapidated home. The woman was in her 80s and still living in the home her parents built many years ago. There had been no updates or repairs in years. The senior woman was nearly blind and in need of our caring assistance. We provided volunteers to get her to her medical appointments that improved not only her vision but also her ability to continue to live independently. After several visits the senior woman shared with me the many hardships she had endured throughout her life. Both her children had died

Gateway signs campus climate pledge Gateway Technical College President and CEO Bryan Albrecht has signed the American Campus Act on Climate Pledge to demonstrate the college’s support for strong climate action by world leaders. A total of 218 colleges and universities representing 3.3 million students from 40 states are commit-
ted to taking action on climate by signing the national pledge and detailing how they would work to meet the pledge on their own campuses. Among other key points, Gateway’s specific pledges to this effort include: • Making carbon neutrality and climate resilience a part of the curriculum and
other educational experiences for all students; • Establishing renewable energy systems on new building and remodeling projects where appropriate; • Reaching out to local schools and community members regarding programming available through the Center for Sustainable Living with a goal of reach-
ing 2,500 individuals per year; • Engaging Gateway students in environmental discussions through campus and community events and programs like the Green Scholar program. The entire national pledge says: “As institutions of higher education, we applaud the progress already
made to promote clean energy and climate action as we seek a comprehensive, ambitious agreement at the upcoming United Nations Climate Negotiations in Paris. We recognize the urgent need to act now to avoid irreversible costs to our global community’s economic prosperity and public health and are optimistic that world
leaders will reach an agreement to secure a transition to a low carbon future. Today our school pledges to accelerate the transition to low-carbon energy while enhancing sustainable and resilient practices across our campus.” For more information, contact Stephanie Sklba at (262) 564-2662.

Hyundai Elantra GT offers great value for price By Barbara Schaffer AUTO DIGEST
Hyundai’s best-selling model, the Elantra, comes in two distinct flavors the sedan and the GT, a five-door hatchback. While each body configuration offers its own advantages, I’ve generally preferred hatchback because of its sportier looks and flexible wagon-like ability to adapt to different situations from ferrying people to expanded cargo carrying ability. I spent a few days recently in the 2016 Hyundai Elantra GT five-door hatchback while on another trip to California to watch my grandson play in a high school football game. (I am his biggest fan, and probably the loudest.) I first saw the refreshed 2016 Hyundai Elantra GT at the 2015 Chicago Auto Show in February. On the outside the main upgrades to the European design include a new grille design with horizontal chrome and argent slats along with stylish new 17-inch alloy wheels. Inside the 2016 GT has increased available features like ventilated driver and passenger seats (a first in this segment), an advanced navigation sys-
tem with HD radio and Apple Siri and the next generation Blue Link connectivity. The Hyundai Blue Link® system adds a new remote start with Google-powered climate control and destination search. I confess I didn’t get a chance to try that, but only because I tend be a bit technologically challenged without help from my grandchildren or husband. I think services like Hyundai’s Blue Link are some of the most important safety features. Blue Link adds Automatic Collision Notification and SOS Emergency Assistance along with programs that keep the owner up-to-date on the vehicle health. The Blue Link, which requires a subscription, is offered in three service packages: Connected Care, Remote and Guidance. The Care is mostly emergency services and maintenance. The Remote package provides remote starting or signaling, stolen car recovery and some other ‘policing’ type services like being a tattletale if someone goes somewhere they aren’t supposed to. The Guidance offers navigation assistance mostly for cars without
the navigation system. The 2016 Elantra GT has a 173-hp 2.0-liter direct injection engine with dual overhead cams and Dual Continuously Variable Valve Timing. That’s a lot of complex equipment to make the GT go, and it goes quite nicely. I couldn’t find any actual timed 0 to 60 mph test results, but estimates say it takes about eight seconds, which is not bad for a little compact. The front-drive Elantra comes with a standard six-speed manual transmission, while my test vehicle had the optional ($1,000) six-speed automatic transmission with Shiftronic manual shifting capability. The Shiftronic is important to me because I am shifter. I use the manual shift mode to slow the vehicle using engine braking on curves and to maintain better control on corners, like on my favorite California test road – Hecker Pass, which snakes over the Santa Cruz Mountains from Gilroy to Watsonville. Actually the GT is tuned to handle better, while the sedan is more for comfort. The GT suspension is tight and that allowed me to really enjoy the sweeping corners and hairpin turns on the pass. It felt
very agile and controlled with a good steering feel and brakes that feel solid when I needed to stop quickly. I’m an economical driver; I always get significantly better fuel economy than my husband does when he’s driving. The Elantra GT has an EPA rating of 24 mpg city, 33 mpg highway and 27 mpg combined. I actually averaged 30.9 mpg during the few days I drove it. The interior of the five-door is one of the largest in this category of compact hatchbacks and I tried it out several times – my passengers commented
how comfortable it was. For a car with a base price under $20,000, okay, $20,625 with the $825 destination charge, the Elantra GT is very well equipped. There is only one trim level available and there are only two option packages available. Standard features, before the two option packages, include a driver selectable steering mode, a full audio system including SiriusXM radio, cruise control, heated front seats and a couple of dozen other features. In the options column there is the $1,975 GT Style
Package with adds fog lights, sport-tuned suspension, power driver seat, aluminum pedals, proximity key entry and push button start, Blue Link® and several other features. The GT A/T Tech Package ($3,950) adds panoramic sunroof, leather seating, LED taillights, ventilated front seats, navigation, HD radio, rearview camera, auto headlights and Blue Link Telematics (Gen 2). Those all combine to make a very well outfitted compact car with a very fair price. My fully loaded test car had a bottom line price of $26,675.
SUBMITTED PHOTO Hi-Liter
The 2016 Hyundai Elantra GT is well-built, fun to drive and it looks good, too. It’s a perfect car for someone to move up to, or for someone looking to downsize without having to lose features.

Text-a-Tip program assists at-risk youths LEAD, a Lake Forest based non-profit, is expanding its 24/7 anonymous TextA-Tip program to include all communities in Lake County. After successfully launching in Lake Forest/Lake Bluff, the system has been extended to include towns along the North Shore and recently became available in McHenry County. Text-A-Tip provides a 24/7 anonymous text-communication system to youth needing immediate mental health assistance for themselves or a friend. Members of the community can send a text message to a dedicated number and receive an immediate response from a licensed clinician while remaining anonymous. The anonymity makes it a comfortable place for students to share and provides a safe outlet for voicing concerns about themselves and others. “Thanks to the efforts of LEAD, Text-A-Tip has been hugely successful in offering youth an innovative way to seek help,” said Michael G. Nerheim, Lake County State’s Attorney. “I am excited to bring this program
to the entire county and provide the people of Lake County a vehicle by which they can get support anonymously. This will, without a doubt, save lives.” “Text-A-Tip was created to give young people an outlet for anonymous, immediate help for themselves or their friends,” said Andy Duran, executive director of LEAD. “Whether struggling with depression, drug or alcohol abuse, bullying or challenging family issues, we allow them to reach out for help using their preferred method of communication – text messaging.” How it works Each community receives a unique ID that routes messages, in real-time, to a local on-call response team. All messages are sent through an offsite cloaking server that keeps the communication anonymous. Anyone in Lake County wishing to use the system will simply text the phrase “LAKECO” to 274637. The Response Team for Lake County consists of licensed/certified mental
health professionals from Barrington Behavioral Health and Wellness who are on-call 24/7 to respond to messages. On-call clinicians from both their Barrington and Lake Zurich offices are responsible for responding appropriately to each communication and for following up whenever necessary. In the case of a life-threatening condition or criminal activity, emergency responders will be notified. LEAD is in partnership with the Lake County Health Department/Community Health Center, Lake County Opioid Initiative, Lake County Regional Office of Education, Barrington Behavioral Health and Wellness and The Child, Adolescent and Family Recovery Center to bring this initiative to the whole of Lake County. Carol Calabresa, Lake County Board Vice-Chair, was responsible for securing funding for the expansion of Text-A-Tip into Lake County through the Lake County Board. For more information, visit www.leadingefforts.org or call (847) 295-9075.

Village requires sidewalk snow removal Antioch residents are reminded of the village’s snow removal policy. The policy states: After one inch of snow accumulates, no parking is allowed on any village street until snow removal has been completed. Also, no plowing, snow blowing or shoveling of snow onto village streets is permitted. Persons required to remove snow: The owners, occupants or lessees of lots that abut a public sidewalk are required to clear snow after two inches has accumulated. Additionally, the owner is required to clear off accumulations of ice, sleet or freezing rain. The responsible person is required to maintain
the sidewalk in a reasonably clear condition. Area required to be cleared: The responsible person is required to clear the lesser of 72 inches or the full width of the sidewalk. Additionally, owners most closely abutting sidewalk ramps are required to clear the ramps. Timing: Clearance should occur within 24 hours after the cessation of an event that deposits at least two inches of snow. For more information on Village snow and ice removal operations, visit the Snow and Ice Removal webpage at www.antioch.il.gov/pwwinter.cfm.

Salem makes ATC opposition official
Town approves resolution rejecting transmission line routes
By Gail Peckler-Dziki
Falcon Heights, explained to the Town Board that her home would be closest to the high voltage transmission line and would adversely affect her son who suffers from asthma. “It’s not good for the children that attend Salem Grade School,” Perez said. “But it’s worse for the children who live in our subdivision and will be near the line all day, every day.” Town Chairwoman Diann Tesar said she sympathizes with the residents. “No one wants it close to their home and the route right through the middle of Salem adversely affects us all.” Brandi Nelson, another Falcon Heights resident, asked if the town had conducted a study to see how much in tax revenues the town would lose because of declining property values and people who might choose not to build in Salem because of the transmission line. She said the property tax bill for a $500,000 home was about $10,000. Town Supervisor Dennis Faber agreed that number was correct, but stated that the town receives only a fraction of that amount. Nelson asked why the county wasn’t more concerned about the transmission line placement. More than 20 concerned residents appeared at the Nov. 9 meeting, many speaking against the proposed transmission line route and asking the Town Board to rally behind them. Supervisor Mike Culat commented that no one wants to see that route and said, “Our hands are tied.” Salem business owner Brian Filiatreault warned that those who comment on the PSC website regarding the project would not be allowed to speak at the PSC hearing that was set for Dec. 1. “And its one person for each parcel,” he said, “so if the husband comments on the page, the wife can’t speak at the hearing.” Roundabout opposed

The Salem Town Board on Nov. 16 unanimously approved a resolution rejecting all power line routes proposed by the American Transmission Company The board further requested that the Public service Commission require the ATC to reconsider and resubmit to the PCS alternate routes. The resolution stated that the proposed power lines and substations would have an undue and adverse impact on the health and welfare of town residents because of the proximity of the facilities to residences and schools. The placement of the facilities and the removal of thousands of trees from lands within the town for the facilities would also have an adverse impact on the aesthetics of the town, the resolution contends. The resolution also states the proposed facilities “will unreasonably interfere with the orderly land use and development plans for the Town of Salem in the areas where the facilities are proposed.” The American Transmission Company has been working on developing a route from the existing Spring Valley Substation in western Kenosha County to the North Lake Geneva Substation in southern Walworth County. While the ATC began with several choices for the route, two final possibilities were presented last January. The final choice has few fans in western Kenosha County. Numerous residents of the Falcon Heights subdivision spoke at the Town Board meeting Nov. 9, expressing concern about dropping property values should the line run along 256th Avenue, right next to Falcon Heights. And even though the ATC moved the line from running across the street from Salem Grade School, Falcon Heights residents believe it is still too close. Terry Perez, who lives in
The board also passed a resolution opposed to the construction of a roundabout at the intersection of highways 83 and AH. The resolution passed on a 4-1 vote, with supervisor Dennis Faber voting against the resolution. He has stated numerous times that he is in favor of the roundabout. “I like roundabouts and I think that the DOT (Department of Transportation) did a good study regarding the need for one there.” He also said that the stoplights were not put in properly. DOT personnel reported that to fix the stoplights properly would cost $4 million to $5 million and involve a long-term road closure. The roundabout would cost $2 million to $3 million and involve a short road closure. The state plans to begin construction in 2018. The resolution states that the Town of Salem opposes the use of a roundabout as a traffic control at the intersection “in light of local traffic conditions.” The resolution will be sent to the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, state Sen. Van Wanggaard and state Rep. Samantha Kerkman. Between 2009 and 2013, there were 30 crashes at the signaled intersection of highways 83 and C. While there were no fatalities, there was one crash that caused severe injuries and six crashes with non-severe injuries. When DOT representative Cynthia Flowers came to Salem to answer questions, town Supervisor Dan Campion said the traffic lights at that intersection were out of sync and correcting that issue might make the intersection safer. He was opposed to spending money to build the roundabout. The board recently passed a resolution supporting legislation currently in the state legislature that would give local municipalities more control over the placement of roundabouts within their boundaries.

Electrifying honor
The Supalo family, father Michael, twin brothers Graham and Miller, 3, and mother Erin, throw the switch at the 40th-annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony in front of the Antioch, Ill., Village Hall, 874 Main St., on Nov. 27. The Supalo’s achieved the electrifying distinction by winning this year’s Village of Antioch Christmas Ornament Decorating Contest sponsored by the Parks and Recreation Department. The family also won last year’s contest. This year, first place prize also included four tickets to next year’s North Pole Express. Their winning ornament is one of many now hanging on the tree. The event followed the Christmas parade, which featured the arrival of Santa Claus – and more cold weather – to the area.

Dave Harms will display his collection of antique aluminum Christmas trees at the McHenry County Historical Society Museum from Dec. 8 through Jan. 8.
• Tree display “The fact that Grandpa and Grandma never had it working drove me nuts,” said Harms, who grew up in Morton Grove and now lives in Crystal Lake. The wintery feel of the aluminum Christmas tree forest is completed by white backdrop, donated by Miceli Drapery Co. of Union, and by many holiday pieces Harms has collected during the more than 35 years he as been a member of Golden Glow of Christmas Past – a worldwide club for collectors of antique Christmas items. given away by Polk Bros. appliance and furniture stores in 1962; as well as color wheels, aluminum candy canes, lighted decorations, sleds and a working Lionel train. Eltrevoog said the price of aluminum likely means its return in Christmas trees is unlikely. A seven-foot tree that sold for $80 in 1960 now commands up to $3,000 on eBay. Pink varieties, in particular, are in demand. “When I look at the whole aluminum forest, I laugh,” Harms said. “People are obsessed with them or equally horrified. “The first year I did this a
couple came during the week and I just happened to be here. It turns out they worked on an assembly line making these during college,” Harms said. “I love hearing the family stories about whatever it was at Christmas time. It was such a great time for me as kid.” The aluminum Christmas tree forest will remain on display from 1 to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, Dec. 8 through Jan. 8, and on weekends by special appointment. For information call (815) 923-2267 or visit www. GotHistory.org. The museum is closed Dec. 24, 25 and 31, as well as Jan. 1.

Central musical ends its run with a bang Director, actors pleased with response to ‘Annie Get Your Gun’
By Jason Arndt STAFF WRITER
After nearly four months of auditions and rehearsal, Westosha Central High School’s musical presentation of “Annie Get Your Gun” came off without a hitch. The musical, which was performed on three nights in mid November, had approximately 800 people in attendance. Westosha Central Drama Director Michael Klimzak said it would not have been possible without the help of multiple directors and nearly 100 students along with their parents. “There are so many people that helped – countless,” Klimzak said. Other faculty members helping in the production were musical director Rob Clark, choreographer Kyle Kimberly Baker, band director Adam Scheele and pianist Jennifer Scheele. Also, Casey Racas assisted with construction of the sets and Rebecca Sym guided the set art while Karen Dietz assisted with the wardrobe. The production, which was derived from an original book by Herbert and Dorothy Fields, chronicled sharpshoot-
er Annie Oakley and her romantic interest Frank Butler’s adventures in a traveling Old West show. Playing the role of Annie Oakley was senior Hannah Kunce, who said it was a challenge to perfect Oakley’s southern accent. “The accent, it was terrible, it was tough to work on,” Kunce said. However, Kunce said the performance was an adrenaline rush, noting that performing on stage is her favorite activity “I really wish we had more time to perform, I love it so much, it is seriously my favorite thing to do,” Kunce said. The performance also gave Kunce an opportunity to collaborate with Joseph Cambroni, who played Butler. Both have performed together since the sixth grade, so the partnership was a cinch. “And to fall in love on stage was a challenge, I love Hannah, but not like that,” Cambroni said. Additionally, playing a role opposite to his personality was a difficult task. “I am not Frank Butler and I will never be Frank Butler, so it was a challenge,” he said. However, the senior noted
the performance carried a special meaning for him, giving him an opportunity to come out on top. “Every year, I got into bigger and bigger roles,” he said. “It just feels good that I ended on a high note.” The musical also was special for Klimzak, who witnessed the development of Cambroni, Kunce and Alex Otero, who played Charlie Davenport. “This musical was very special because this is my senior year, I have seen these students pass from freshman year through their senior year,” Klimzak said. “It was great to see how they have grown.” While the seniors performed their final fall act, there is hope for a solid future, noted by more than 70 ensemble members. “I thought the ensemble did a great job, and had a lot of freshman,” Kunce said. “A lot of people we did not know, but it turned out well.” While the musical marks the final fall performance by Cambroni, he said it was worth it. “It was rewarding. You are tired from the previous night, but you got to come back and do it all over again,” he said.
