3 Cycling Without Age Celebration – Are you an older adult wanting to enjoy the fun of getting out for a bike ride? Connect with a pilot at this Cycling Without Age celebration from 4:30-8:30 p.m. at the Walworth County Fairgrounds as part of the National Night Out. Volunteers will pilot trishaws initiating bonding between generations. Ocean Show with Special Guest Bill Serritella at Flat Iron Park in downtown Lake Geneva, 6 to 8 p.m. Tony Ocean’s upbeat style embodies the music of Sinatra, Martin, Davis, Darin, Tony Bennett, Tom Jones and others. Joining him will be Bill Serritella crooning the sounds of Sinatra. Concerts are held each Tuesday through the summer season.
7 Pig and Corn Roast – Town of Linn Fire and EMS host their 50th Pig and Corn Roast at the Linn Township Fire Department, N1457 Hillside Rd. Proceeds are used to purchase needed tools, rescue equipment and to fund community education and activities. Purchase tickets at linnfirepigroast. com 8 Elkhorn Antique Flea Market –
7 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Walworth County Fairgrounds, 411 E. Court St., Elkhorn. More than 500 dealers bring with them a wide range of merchandise from furniture in the rough to fine refinished, glassware to pottery, advertising to linens, decoys to dolls, and everything else in between.

Concerts in the Park – Geoff Landon and Friends at Flat Iron Park in downtown Lake Geneva, 6 to 8 p.m. Possessing a songwriting prowess, Landon and company plays country-tinged adult contemporary music that begs an encore. Belting out big guitar solos with light-hearted roots in rock enjoyed by many.
13-15 Das Fest at Walworth
County Fairgrounds – Strap on some lederhosen, don your best dirndl, and discover you Deutsch for this new German festival. Grab a stein and a bratwurst while you listen to some of the best German bands from across the United States in the Oktoberfest Tent. Cheer on the dachshunds, shop in the Marktplatz. and feast on schnitzel, potato pancakes and pork shank.
14 Lyons Riverfest – 11 a.m. to
midnight at Riverview Park, 1598 Mill St., Lyons. 18-22 Lake Geneva Venetian Fest – The five-day festival runs from Aug. 18 through 22 at Flat Iron, Library and Seminary parks in downtown Lake Geneva. Entertainment includes live music, a craft fair, carnival, water ski show, local cuisine including a brat stand and beer tent. This is all capped off on Sunday with a traditional Venetian Style lighted boat parade followed by the area’s largest fireworks display high above Geneva Lake (see page 21).
