What is the Flexible Workforce Development Fund and how can it benefit my organisation? If you are an employer with fewer than 250 employees or a levy payer, you can apply for the FWDF to address skills gaps in your organisation. Applications to access the fund can be made until 31st July 2022. Training must start before 31st August 2022 and be completed no later than 31st December 2022. You can use this investment to up-skill or re-skill your existing workforce. This is an opportunity to engage and motivate your employees, offer them high quality training of real benefit to your organisation: supporting and enabling your business to become more productive and grow. We can deliver bespoke training to your employees using safe and flexible approaches which have been adapted to support your business needs. Our range of specialist, industry specific programmes, can be delivered face-toface in college or your workplace. Alternatively programmes can be delivered using a blended or remote model using easy to access learning technologies. This adapted approach to learning will provide you with a degree of flexibility to meet your business needs. We will discuss your training needs, support you to identify suitable courses, and the most suitable approach for your employees. We can also support you with the completion of your application. Funds are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis so get in touch with us today by emailing fwdf@slc.ac.uk to arrange an initial discussion on how we can help you apply to the fund.

This course is suitable for all employees and has been designed to equip participants with the skills and knowledge to promote their own health and wellbeing. The course will include an introduction to the benefits of good nutrition and exercise. Participants will receive a college certificate.

Mental Health First Aid Awareness

This course is suitable for all employees and has been designed to promote a positive mental health culture within the workplace. It provides learners with the knowledge to recognise a mental health condition and the skills to start a conversation and be able to signpost a person towards professional help. Participants will receive a college certificate.

Mental Health First Aid Awareness

This course is suitable for all employees but it has been designed to help employers provide a positive mental health culture within the workplace and to provide learners with knowledge on a range of the most common mental health conditions and the skills to be able to act. A multiple-choice paper and practical assessment are mandatory. On achievement participants will receive a NUCO credited certificate.

Mental Health First Aid

This course is suitable for all employees within a workplace but is aimed at those who hold supervisory/managerial level position and who have responsibility for implementing a positive mental health culture and responsibility for First Aid for Mental Health within an organisation. A wide range of conditions are covered. Written and practical assessments are mandatory. On achievement participants will receive a NUCO credited certificate.

Emergency First Aid

This course is suitable for all employees. The course will outline the roles and responsibilities of a First Aider, how to assess as situation and provide first aid in emergency situations. The course is assessed using ongoing practical assessments. On achievement participants will receive a SQA credited certificate.

First Aid at Work

This course is suitable for all employees who wish to gain become workplace First Aiders. The course will detail the roles and responsibilities of a First Aider, assessing a situation and provide first aid in emergency situations. A theory and practical assessment will take place on day three of the course. On achievement participants will receive a SQA credited certificate.

Forrest Kindergarten

working in a childcare environment who wish to develop their skills and knowledge of outdoor play and support the delivery of Forrest Kindergarten. The course consists of theory and practical sessions defining Forrest Kindergarten, the benefits to children, risk assessment and practical activities. Participants will require to undertake an assessment and to carry out an observation of children participating in Forrest Kindergarten within their workplace. On achievement participants will receive a SQA credited certificate.

Delivery will include how to plan, implement and evaluate play in a quality learning environment. Participants will receive a college certificate.
