Goodfellows find a way to give

LEAMINGTON — When the Leamington Mersea Goodfellows were forced to cancel their annual Christmas Basket drive as Windsor-Essex moved into lockdown, members were searching for a way to still give to families in need.

After delivering Christmas baskets to the community since the 1970s, the Goodfellows were faced with a very difficult decision and they were unable to continue the tradition this year.

In place of the Christmas baskets, the Goodfellows recently made a decision to mail a letter of explanation and a grocery store gift card to each of their nearly 200 recipients.

If not for the generous donations of the rest of the community, this would not have been possible, however, once again, the community stepped up and the Goodfellows were able to provide a happy Christmas for many individuals and families.
