Assessment Centre hours unchanged during holidays

LEAMINGTON — Erie Shores Health- Care’s COVID-19 Assessment Centre is keeping the hours of operation status quo to accommodate the holidays and ensure they can meet the testing needs of the community.

ESHC’s COVID-19 Assessment Centre operating hours remain 8am to 6pm, 7 days a week. That includes Christmas, Boxing Day, and New Year’s Day.

“Our staff and teams are ready and dedicated to provide testing to those in our communities through the holiday season,” said Lynn Mitchell, COVID-19 Assessment Centre Operations Manager.

Appointments can be booked online at www. erieshoreshealthcare.ca.

At this time, no walk-ins are allowed and staff ask that you do not come in early for your appointment, but arrive at the time you are scheduled for.

If you are booking an appointment for someone else online/telephone, please ensure you fill out the contact information for the person requiring the test.

People with accessibility issues or who do not have access to the internet can still call and book an appointment at: 519-326- 2373 extension 4263.

Individuals will be asked for their name, phone number and reason for test. Please note phone bookings are accepted until 6pm daily and from 12pm to 12:45 pm, phones are not manned.

The hospital asks that you book your COVID-19 testing appointments online as much as possible. Questions can be directed to the Assessment Centre through www.erieshoreshealthcare.ca.

The COVID-19 Assessment Centre will only test those who fall within the Ontario provincial guidelines.

This includes individuals who are showing COVID-19 symptoms, have been exposed to a confirmed case of the virus, as informed by the Health Unit or exposure notification through the COVID Alert app.

Also, if you live or work in a setting that has a COVID-19 outbreak, as identified and informed by the Health Unit.

You can also access a test if you have no symptoms but require a test as an essential health worker, for Long Term Care visits, a medical procedure, cancer treatment, or if you are eligible for testing as part of a targeted testing initiative by the Ministry of Health.
